PBD really are taking the mickey now
I just got another email from them about my 4th claim, this one says that my paperwork as arrived at their 'processing office' (ie. the desk opposite) and will be sent out within the next the next 10 working days... great, it will only have taken 3 months!
I nearly fell of my chair laughing the other day when I read on my dispatch notice that I would recieve my cashback within 14 days of them receiving my claim.. yeah right!! The first claim took 6 weeks to settle and every subsequent one has taken an extra 2 or 3 weeks on top of that!!
I'm just waiting now to hear that the claim I sent off the other day has had a vital page missing

Hi mustbemad,
just looked at other thread - looks like same company (same address in Nottingham? trying it on.
Spoke to local Trading Standards office (Richmond) on Friday but they weren't sure and suggested legal route. I am quite prepared to go this way as I always knew they would try and stitch me up. All my claims have been photo-copied in exact form as printed and bills have been stapled to claim form so they cannot come apart. I then send them recorded so they can't claim "not received".
I'm going to contact Nottingham Trading Standards now (as other thread) - the more the merrier.0 -
Please read my posts on Coolnewmobile thread and contact me if considering legal action. The more witnesses the better.

Forget sending them recorded delivery,as you are not aware that this service is worthless if your bills go missing.
Pay the extra and send it by Special delivery with consequential loss. :AWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

How can you prove the contents of the letter ? My understanding of Special Delivery is compensation is paid if it is lost, not if it is received and the receiver signs for it. They will tell Royal Mail the contents were missing the necessary page and you will be back to square 1

My response was directed to the point I quoted.

Recorded delivery is a waste of time as it is sent by normal post, and cashback companies receive loads of these and are not asked to sign for them by the postman. Special delivery letters have to be signed for by everyone that handles it.
You will not be recompensed the value of your claim if a claim is sent recorded delivery and it is not signed for and "lost" by the addressee.
I was a postman for 5 years, and have never used recorded delivery since
There is not a lot you can do if they claim a page is missing, personally I would take a picture of what you are putting in the envelope. If they use the "Page missing" reason for denial, e-mail them a copy of it prior to it being put in the envelope. I guess that this will persuade them to re-think your claim.:D
Of course we shouldn't have to do all this, but I also shouldn't have to lock my door at night. :AWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
If you use your PAC you will terminate your contract early.
Your network will still bill you up to the end of your minimum contract.
If this is not a problem (ie you aren't in a cashback deal which says doing this will breach the cashback conditions, and you don't mind "wasting" around 10 days of your contract), then use it around 9/8/07.
Otherwise let this PAC lapse, and get another one at the end of your contract then use it immediately.
Im going to use it at 15th as im out of the UK ATM, but will it be a problem(i.e PBD explicitly state you must be connected for 360days.)
regards

I am new to all this thred business so hope I am doing this right.......
I am wondering if somebody can help me...... I bought a phone from phoneboxdirect in March. I did not save the Claim form at this time and I have recently realised that they have changed the one on their website. Now if I sent the new form into them after 120 days connected ( in July i think) are they likely to say......" ah sorry love, but you sent us the wrong claim form"
There is suttle differences in the claim forms which is downloaded here:
https://secure.phoneboxdirect.com/201cashbackclaim.pdf
mainly you now only have 21 days instead of 28 but also you have to have the dispatch sheet!!!!!
So my question is: Has anybody got a copy of the old style "28 day" claim form that they can email to me?
I would be most greatful for any help....
Thx
Hi there,
I have a HARD copy of the old style one but its at home in the UK(im currently abroad), im coming back in 3 weeks time, i will scan and host it so people like yourself won't get ripped off. But I mean i took my contract out about 2 weeks before the terms changed(about a month ago I think), i'm still going to adhere with their policy of sending the despatch note(I dont even think i received one!) and sending it within 21days as it says on the old and new form:
"Please check the full terms and conditions on the website carefully, before returning this form so that
you don’t claim incorrectly."
And on the website the terms and conditions have been adjusted to the new terms, so I would have thought that everyone need to claim in accordance to the new rules.
I am no LEGAL EXPERT, but I would have thought that if a company changes their terms and conditions it is mandatoary to make reasonable efforts to inform their customers, I never received an email!!
Regards

Hi,
Do Royal mail ever update their tracking portal to say that recorded delivery letters have been delivered?
I sent in my 5th claim recorded last week (yes, I really regret not using special delivery now ) and it just says on royal mail that it is out for delivery, please check back later... it has been saying the same since last Thursday. Grrrrrrrr.
Do PBD let you send in a photocopy of your bill if a recorded letter gets 'lost'?
Thanks for any help

No they don't - and are up to plenty of dirty tricks without giving them the opportunity. I know it won't help, but DO make a formal complaint to Royal Mail and ask for a refund. You are apparently covered for up to £34 which (given it's your final claim) may help a little. But wait and see if Phonebox acknowedges the claim first. Royal Mail write to the recipient and I would hold fire on advertising this. If people DID complain and ask Royal Mail for a refund Royal Mail MIGHT then give a damn. Right now, they don't!0
