The house near Southampton really did look like a care home-big concrete box with no outstanding features from the outside. I found the bloke a bit shifty to be hjonest and got the feeling that he had this big dream in his head and the wife was just swept along with it. Like when he initially refused to move out when the roof was being put on. Rather then spout some sense to him she just seemed to go along with it until the Beeny turned up with a motor home.
Can't find the house on Rightmove so presume they are living in it until somebody offers £2m and that the £1.3 offer fell through?
    April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£150

Yep couldn't believe they didn't knock it down and what a hideous house they built the inside was ok but the outside!!!! and the bloke talked about not wanting to knock it down to keep the character, bloody hell i have seen more character in an iceberg lettuce.

I take your comments as an insult to ice-berg lettuces everywhere.:mad::D

The thing was their plot was so lovely. Private looking, large and with lots of greenery. I'd have knocked the original thing and put in a contemporary HufHaus or something similar. Something big, with lots of windows and super-insulated, with lots of solar panels and a geo-thermal pump to make the big rooms easy to heat. I can't believe everyone would prefer fake georgian to well planned contemporary.

But then again, if I had that plot I'd be building a home and my rule is either actual period or inventively contemporary.

Absolutely the bloke was a complete ar5e, they rented a motorhome for 2 months for £750 a month and lived in a building site for the rest of the time, hampering the works whilst they did.
My mate bought a two bedroom static caravan for £2500 including getting it delivered, when he gutted his house, connected it up to the mains for electricity, water and sewage and sold it for £1500 two years later.

If I was spending 1.3 mil on a house I'd at least want a swimming pool. :D

I thought the house was ugly and not enough furniture in it.

I love Sarah Beeny too, and my Dad fancies her ;)
Just owe Dad £2500 for a new car

Paid off car loan 22nd August 2009. :T

I would have cammed on as many houses or flats as PP would allow.

Jeeeezus! Where DO they get these people from?!?

My brother's an EA. He's had researchers from the show phone up and ask if he has any first time developers buying who look like they don't know what they're doing!

He also refuses to speak to the researchers from Location Location Location anymore. Apparently they've not turned up for viewings, and also just driven past houses they've booked viewings for and decided it's a no. When Kirsty 'n' Phil were in town, Kirsty did a talking-walking shot strolling past all the EA branches. My brother's colleague mooned but sadly that take didn't make it on air.

Just watched Property Ladder. That house was so ugly! How could they not see Sarah was right re knocking down and re-building.

And that poncey big hall in the other place followed by a lounge smaller than the one in my flat. Was hoping that pair would lose money.
