This is unacceptable. I fear however that Tesco turn a blind eye to such attitudes from their staff - from other reports I've read on M.S.E.

When I worked as a cashier in a petrol station the company sent us on a "customer care course". I've always remembered the stuff I learnt on this course and Tesco would do well to make the same investment in their staff, especially those that are given the position of representing the company at the Customer (dis)Service Desk.

I agree it's out of order.

Hopefully it's changed now, but when I used to work there, you got your cashier training, then got trained on CS desk if you wanted to a few months later. More what to do than how to treat customers.

    bit greedy ain't it?

(thinks: poster's user name very appropriate  )

Not for you, or me, to judge if this is greedy.

Have learnt that on MSE what one person thinks is acceptable, another person doesn't. If bargains are there to be had, and they're a legal bargain, people will take advantage to a level which they feel is acceptable.

No, it's only if you've been overcharged.

She must have had a rotten lunch in the staff canteen that gave her bellyache :D
  • I got the Nivea shower cream. I watched the amount as it was put through the till, as soon as she put two through £1.49 came off, usually BOGOF's come off at the end. The £2.49 then came off at the end. I bought 8 which should have been £19.92 less the first reduction of £5.96 then at the end the £9.96 came off. Brings my total to pay to £4. Used a Joey so got 8 Nivea shower creams for the grand total of £1. :j :j
