  • Just wanted to ask, Is part of Asda policy the same as Tesco mis-price, where you get the item free?
I recently bought my son a bedding set which said in the package for 7 pounds but I got charged 10 Pounds extra in Asda.

Asda's policy is to refund the difference and give you a £2 store credit card. no more sorry.

Tell them your going to Tesco in future because they refund and replace.

Watch out for different size packs in relation to pounds per kilo, these tend to be next to each other and do get mixed together by shoppers, normally a couple of pence per kilo difference between larger and smaller packs, the cs woman pointed this out today and when she showed me,lets just say the shelf had been tidied up,never mind,i had lots of salmon, lamb chops and gammon 4free

Cheers everyone - my first free stuff at Banbury T's today

3 x weight watchers mature cheddar = £6.80 - woman at CS was most helpful she even seemed grateful when i offered to show her where cheese was - though i really just wanted to ensure that she wasnt just going to pull a fast one.

    and got

2 x quattros for the coupons
1 x quattro razor (so i can use the blades + had a £2 coupon on it) :)
and got a £3 joey on berry shredded wheat

+ bakers complete dog food is on offer and you can get a full refund from bakers if your dog doesnt like it!!!

was a little disappointed that no meat, salmon or finest/mature cheese was incorrect. It seems that my store was either hot on ticket changes or I was just unlucky. TBH cant stand reduced fat cheese but hey it was free wasnt it!!

Be warned that Asda CS rarely offer the £2 gift card, in fact I have never been offered it at any of the stores where I was overcharged. I always have to 'casually' ask if they're still giving them out :rotfl:
  • i was in my tesco store leicester(b.leys) and an assistant told me as i was looking at shower gel to buy the nivea shower cream. It is on bogof at £2.49 but when you buy 4 you get £7.96 of the bill so 4bottles for £2.

yes this did work - I was in Tesco last night when hubby called to tell me...

also on the CD front - Tesco Nice n Easy 54 timeless classics 3 cd set (big yellow sticker on front saying NewTesco Exclusive) - £6.97 scans £9.97 - nice refund and Xmas sorted for Nan
  • Smoked salmon was mis-priced this morning at Whitstable (Kent) - 4 packs refunded, £10.66 back, thank you Tesco :T
  • thankyou to niggy for the cheese and Colin2511 for the cd

    very happy bunny
  • Don't know if this one's nationwide, but the CS told me there was a printing error on the poster.

If you look at the top 40 CD's poster, Madelaine Peroux's CD is clearly priced at £7.97; yet the ticket may say £9.77. I was charged £9.77 at the till, and then went to argue for a refund. Took a bit of persuasion, but got my £9.77 back and kept the CD.
I did manage to price check on the customer machine; I tried the same trick last week, the price I was charged was correct, unfortunately, but getting a refund was not a problem. Note, they'll check the CD very carefully for damage or fingerprints, and will refuse a refund if it's not mint. Fair enough in my opinion.
BTW, the CD is quite nice, jazzy and cheerful. The opening track may be familiar to some of you. If it was a rubbish CD, I might have been tempted to return it or exchange it, either at another store or when a different CS was on duty; they didn't write 'refunded' on my receipt as they do in some stores.
  • Like many others, I love this forum and enjoy the bargains. This is my first post, and wanted to tell you about my expereicne with my Tesco bargain..
The first time I spotted a misprice a few weeks back, I bought a few cheeses, got my refund no problem. This week I thought id be a little braver, and 'test' the policy further. Found some of the nice Finest mispriced cheese. Shelf price £2.57, pack price £2.73. Thought id be brave and bought 20. Paid in excess of £50 for them, and off I went to CS.
The supervisor said as I had bought over 5 items, the poilcy of a refund did not apply, because this was considered a 'Bulk Item Purchase'. Instead, she offered to refund the difference. So I stood my ground and insisited on a refund, after all id spent 50 quid on the stuff!. The Manager came over and spoke to me. Again he repeated because i had purchased over 5 items, the refund policy did not apply. I said the cashier did not stop me buying them, and i had the receipt - the transaction had been completed as far as i was concerned. Still he refused to give me a refund. Funny thing was as he spoke to me, there was a huge sign behind him on the wall, advertising the refund policy! :D
Anyway, I knew what he was saying about the bulk item policy was rubbish. They simply cocked up, the cashier had forgot to stop me at the till, or query the bulk items before I bought them (assuming this Bulk Item Policy does exist anyway), and he was trying to use this as a get out clause to stop me getting my refund after I had bought the goods.
So I asked to see this Bulk Item policy in print. Funnily enough after 10mins or so of waiting he couldn't find/produce it. Anyway, he then told the CS lady to refund me my £50 odd quid, and stormed off, without any apology for the inconveninece. I must say the CS who served me was very polite, and she did apologise.
So it sounds as though Tesco are asking their cashiers to query customers at the till who are buying over 5 items - so they can check the price before the items are purchased.
However, if the cashier doesnt do this, then its tough i guess, Tesco have to refund you in line with their policy.
But stand your ground. Once the purchase has been completed, and you have paid for the goods and have the receipt, Tesco have no get out however they try and wriggle out of it or convince you otherwise.
