  • Time will tell! I have to agree though I do think refunding one is fair enough.

Of course it is! a smalll penalty for the store and a tipoff and opportunity to correct the mistake, a reasonable recompense to the shopper for their vigilance and sense of security when shopping that they can see their observations bear fruit and accurate descriptions and prices on which to make buying decisions.

Having said that to give balance to the relationship you may also decide to give them only one opportunity to correct their mistake and on seeing no action taken and misprice remaining on shelf feel no compunction in referring your next complaint to the trading standards office and advising them of your previous notification of the offence to them.

This could be interesting. If you purchase multiple items which are overpriced, and they will only refund you on one of them, that means that they have committed an offence (and refused to rectify the error) in respect of every other item.

In the event of this happening I shall be beating a path to Trading Standards, and suggest that everyone else does the same.

It seems to me that Tesco may be in a hole with this, and are digging furiously.

heads up on the lamb again.....out hunting for beef in gravy last night I spotted whole legs of lamb, they have changed the price to 5.49kg...but not so bright staff have left the 5.89 lamb on sale ....lamb for dinner Sunday (there was still the usual gammon, cheese etc, and sirloin steak available)

I really need toiletries or tinned stuff as freezer is full and trying to get my Christmas hampers together if anyone noticed anything else

Just come back from Tesco.I picked up 2 of the Healthy eating chicken (1st timer).
Shelf price (the ONLY price), was£6.97 per kg/ £3.16 per lb. Pack price £7.50 kg/£3.40 lb.
Took it to CS, where I was told it was an 'old price ticket, that shouldn't have been there'. Asked for my money back and the pkts (2), but she said they could only refund the money..............if they took back the chicken. I said it wasn't Tesco policy to do that and she said that's all she'd offer.
The people behind me were complaining (At me!!) so much I left with head office tele number in hand.
Now I don't know wether to ring them or not.

LilacLillie, get in there and ring RIGHT NOW!!!!!

You have done nothign at all wrong, Tesco offer to refund money and give item free with miss-prices and their idiotic staff have refused to do that. If it was me I would have let the fools behind complain and would have argued it out with the CS (in the nicest possible way) until there was a big queue of people and they got the manager down!!!

    LMK how you get on!!!
