Organic Wensleydale and Gammon Joints still mispriced in Huddersfield but it's interesting to note that the packs with the longer sell buy date are priced correctly. Is this the end of these particular items?

Tesco 2kg Unsmoked Prime Gammon Joints - has a label for £8.48, and now has a "matching" shelf label which states £7.98.

I say matching, because as some people already know, the old label with £7.98 may not have had the word "Prime", and this was the get out for CS.

This label was not on the shelf a few days ago!!

Same CS staff, and they weren't fussed. Nice girls actually, one of them even cut out the coupons from the Sun for the free Pot Noodle.

Interesting! Wonder if we will see another rash(er) of free bacon?

  • As posted on another thread, something odd happened to me today. I picked up another 3 packs of Weightwatchers cheese (3.48kg on the shelf, 3.79kg on the packs). Duly marched over to CS, who had no problem refunding me. When the lady on CS scanned through the most expensive pack, which had scanned at the till at the label price of £2.36, it scanned at £2.20. She couldn't explain why the item scanned at the label price (overcharged) at the till, but came up with a different price on the CS system (I'm guessing that was the price at 3.48kg). She refunded me the price I'd been charged, though. According to her, they work on the same system and the barcode should have brought up the same price. She didn't understand it, either. Weird, eh?

I think the Cheese Police had been out in my Tesco today. I spotted lots of yellow labels with the price per kg, weight and price on, stuck over this info on the original label.......nothing else...... covering up mistakes??????

There are also quite strict rules on the pricing of perishable goods, date codes MUST NOT be obscured or altered in anyway in order to avoid committing a further offence, they must also when permitted to, reprice downwards and not upwards.

  • Visited the Blackpool store this evening. They still had a few of the cheeses mispriced. I picked up a couple of Dutch Edam, price on the pack £3.69 kg and £3.48 on the shelf. CS eventually refunded after trying to fob me off with " I'll give you the difference then". When I pointed to the huge policy behing him, he refunded me saying that very soon the wording on the policy was changing. When I quizzed him further he said that in their recent news letter it stated that if you buy a multiple of items which are wrongly priced, they will soon only refund you for one item.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

Ok so one at a time it is then seems fair to me. It all remains to see if that one is enough for them to sort the misprice before you visit the store again!
