MY Tescos doesn't have a sign up at Customer service desk about the refund and replace policy, should they all have one up on display ?0

Britbrat-you have to be careful as other Tesco threads have detailed how Tesco can ban you from their store.
I agree TS is a great threat when you have been overcharged, but if you go shopping every day and get your entire shop refunded due to only picking up misprices, I think a manager would have grounds to ban you from shopping there in future.
You'll also get very fat and develop high blood pressure from all the meat and cheese and you won't have a defense in 50 years time when you sue Tesco for selling you all this fatty food.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Whilst your comment highlights the pitfalls and rightly so, if any manager was stupid enough to give the above as a reason for a ban I can't see him retaining his position too long, they don't have to give a reason if they want to ban you, but to do so because you are highlighting infractions of trading standards legislation is very risky indeed and would be a damning indictment in the event of a court case. This is far from the situation with coupons you are alerting them to the misprices and giving them valuable opportunity to get it right and avoid prosecution to prevent you coming into the store in order to continue such practices gives a whole different outlook on the situation and begs the question as to whether the misprices are genuine mistakes or smart practice?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I have been lurking for a few months, debating whether to try this or not, I have succeeded !!!!! Guess what, Tesco's gammon joints! This is my first time trying out my local store. Sadly I didn't find any beef mismarked, but the gammon joints were very wrong (7.97 shelf/8.48 package), now if I only liked pork meat (hubby is well pleased with this find though).
Now, what about all the prices that don't match but the other way around. I noticed the cheeses were all a bit goofy, shelf priced at say 4.97 kg and package prices 4.96 kg, anything from the value brand to the expensive name brands. They all seemed to be a few pence off the wrong direction, does that qualify for anything, as it is in my favour already?
Sadly though, the manager removed the tickets on the gammon shelf but the clerk did comment this happened a few weeks ago and they thought it was just a fluke and didn't do anything about it! Will try another location next week!

Some smaller branches do have a much smaller sign to the side of the customer service counter if it is a kiosk for example and this is usually complimented with a counter top copy (same colour blue card stands upright on counter but often pushed to the side if counter space limited)
HTH
ps afaik ALL customer service areas should display the boards depicting company policy a quick call to customer service at ho should confirm this if anybody is that interested or noticed signage removed or obliterated.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Welcome to the land of the FREE Uk in answer to your question above, previously you would still have qualified for a refund and replace due to the wording at that time, however this was changed earlier this year (much to my disappointment I might add) to eliminate this possibility. Current legislation requires that where two or more differing prices occur the lower price MUST be charged in order to avoid committing an offence, the vendor could of course refuse to complete the transaction at the lower price and then only risk misleading advertising instead of more serious offences.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Lol! I sometimes have to use crutches to get around - I shall have to take them with me on my Tesco trips now so that I can fight people off with them!
I shall go back tomorrow to see if they have changed the shelf ticket...0 -
Hi pogg! Welcome to the land of the loons
If the price you pay is cheaper than the price on the shelf, then no it doesn't qualify for anything under their policy.
Ben- I agree they'd be on dodgy ground as the misprice is illegal, but the manager would have to do something if you continued to get a refund of about £50 each day (which is very possible in our stores) Maybe employ the shopper to check the prices for them?! A bit of hush money always works well...Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Checked out the CDs again today.
McFly - Room on the 3rd Floor - shelf price £5.97, some packs marked up at this, some at £9.77 and some not at all. Scanned at £7.97.
I'm guessing that the Scissors Sisters one I saw yesterday (only one left) was probably scanning ar £9.77 instead of the shelf-edge price of £5.97 too, but I couldn't check, as the security tag was over the barcode. They're marked up on the shelf at £9.77 today. Ho hum.
No meat for me today - AGAIN!!
