Kenny4315 wrote:Had a bit of hassle with my refund today. Rump Steak overpriced by a £1 a kilo, went to CS, informed her that I'd been overcharged, she sent for someone to check, went with her, soon a manager chap arrived, uum aahh, blah balh, its a genuine mistake, we'll give you the difference, 'oh no' I says you'll give me the refund and the product as per the policy, 'but this is a mistake' he says (did he expect me to feel sorry for tesco's and let him off
) 'I know it is' I says, the CS says you were in the other day and got some mispriced stuff, 'I was in a few days ago and yes it was incorrectly priced, 'your abusing the policy' he says, 'don't you mean you are misleading consumers by incorrectly marking stuff', I says 'what do you so' he says 'well I'm a qualifed chartered accountant' I says 'oh I'll get your refund sorted' he says.
 :T
After which I gave him a speach about the lack of proper control procedures  . I asked him what he wanted me to do next time I was overcharged, he looked at me with an uneasy smile, but could not find an answer.
Has anyone else found this an issue ? If so what are you solutions / approach ?
I think I would say " I wasn't abusing the policy, when you were informed on my last visit of the price difference/ overcharge then Tesco would have ensured the prices were changed immediately. Unfortunately it wasn't and I have been overcharged yet again, along with every customer who has also bought this item in the last day/month etc. It would be interesting how trading standards would look upon this price difference when you were informed, but chose to keep on overcharging."
I've just come back from my local Tesco. The cornfed chicken are still overpriced, and this is really naughty since in my store it actually has a large promotional sign as well as the little label, and a lot of old dears were picking them up thinking they were getting a bargain. Smoked Gammon 2kg had the label taken off the shelf last time I had a refund and is now back on, £8.48 on pkt, £7.98 on shelf. Organic Sirloin Steak £14.99 pkt £12.99 shelf.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
Someone has obviously beaten me to the cheese at Middlebrook as it all had the correct prices on, on small yellow labels.
The smoked salmon is still wrong, but I can't stand it and don't know anyone who does like it, so I left that for anyone else who's eagle-eyed enough to spot it.
No wrongly priced meat either.
Was hoping to see if any of the special offer CDs were marked up wrongly, but they wouldn't scan for me, as the security tags were over the barcodes.

Wonder whether Head Office would support this policy0

Just go back around again I guess.
Or could you split it up at till and pay for it 2 or 3 different times?0 -
a little bit of gammon, a chicken and some weight watchers cheese yesterday. thank you very much!
thought i was lucky to get the young boy, but he took ages, and tried checking the weight per kg on the gamon, to see if it should be 3.92 or 4.14. came up as should be 3.92, but pointed out the price would still be wrong if it had come to 4.14, as the shelf said 3.92. wasn't very polite, but was much better than the complete jobsworth from last time.
why do they have to be so nasty?
overheard her getting out of a refund on some beefburgers that were meant to be bogof but weren't. wanted to tell the woman that CS were wrong, but I didn't have the balls to get involved. maybe next time.0 -
What a rush i have only ever got the Harris Bacon before but went to another branch today to look whilst doing the shop.Found the gammon priced at £8.48 instead of £7.98 and also got one salmon but only the 100g and 3 blocks of cheese. Not sure if these ones have been posted before?
Tesco's farmhouse vintage cheddar 320g shelf £2.59 pack £2.73
Tesco Healthy living chesse 250g shelf £1.89 pack £1.99
Tesco farmhouse extra mature cheddar 480g shelf £3.45 pack £3.65
So a lovely £18 or so back and the items:)Darren0
