We, Woody & I, loved it. I for one could not stop laughing and must have been getting on nerves at point because I have such a deep down dirty laugh
Wimbledon was packed for the screening and there were people still bowling in 30mins after the film had started. I normally do Croydon for previews but have decided that Wimbledon might be my new fave for the totally lackdaisical attitude to it all. No ticket checked and I swear I saw people wandering into Dark Knight screening afterwards just because they could lolDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
Just back from Miss Pettigrew. We were there quite early, 5 mins to 6 or something, and there were already people sitting in screen 8, the highest screen the Vue West End has. The cinema filled up to the brim, I don't think there were many seats left in the end, if at all. I enjoyed the film, it was a light-hearted yet very predictable story. I will give it 7/10 as I did laugh more in Get Smart!
Which row were you in Beate?
Maybe we should have a MSE screening in future!
I thought it was quite funny, bit quirky though... only in the olden days do people fall in love so quickly.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

You know I have often wondered about ushers here just taking your ticket at the entrance then letting you wander off, not caring which screen you really go to. And as you say, once you are up there.... :cool:Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Was in a dilemma last night as people had got me tickets for Miss Pettigrew whilst I was away and yet my kids wanted to see Get Smart. My mum and her friends wanted Miss Pettigrew, so what was I to do? I did the only sensible thing and tossed a coin.
Get Smart won........ and Miss Pettigrew tickets were duly handed over to the older brigade. Anyway it turns out that Miss Pettigrew was more their thing and they gave it a 7/10 (not sure if you can use this score as I didn't actually see it - big sorry to all that got me the tickets though they did go to a worthy home!)
Off to Wimbledon I went with the kids thinking I had probably missed out on watching the better film but how wrong was I. The screening was practically full with late comers coming in as usual. The film was light entertainment at its best - you always knew what the outcome would be but there were plenty of laughs along the way. The kids thought it was excellent and our overall score is a 8.5/10.
In addition, we were given an invitation to a film screening next week of "Me and Orson Welles" staring Zac Efron (my daughter is so pleased). The film is not due out til next year and you have to have an invitation card so can't pass on a code or anything so sorry about that - but two films from one visit - can't be bad.
Scores again:- Miss Pettigrew 7/10 Get Smart 8.5/10:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0 -
I got to the Birmingham screening of Get Smart at 6pm to make sure of getting a seat (thanks for the advice on here). By 6.20pm, it was really packed and the assistant was trying to seat a group of 7 in the 3 remaining seats. They'd won a competition or something, and eventually got offered tickets to go and see any other film that night.
Film started 10 mins late by the time they'd got some people into the remaining 3 seats (which meant a mad dash for the train at the end), but I really enjoyed it. Lots of laughs and easy to watch. 8/10
Still can't believe they put it on a screen with only 70 seats though. I was in the back row - which was 5 rows from the screen! Explains why I had to try for days to get a ticket...
Did everyone else get a guy in a white mac introducing the film before it came on? Never seen that before at a screening.0
