rantu - that register thing was strange - a lot of security at this screening too.
I agree that it is so disappointing when you get into the cinema and it is more than 3 quarters empty. Don't get me wrong, I don't appreciate it when it goes the other way (Gone Baby Gone at Shaftesbury Avenue was a nightmare, poor people had to sit on the stairs) but when poor attendance isn't from a lack of interest in terms of bookings, just people not turning up it is a bit frustrating. There are always last minute emergencies, where it might be too late to pass on tickets - but when the screening is barely 25% full and the codes to said film are all showing as fully booked, I'm more inclined to think that people couldn't be bothered to make it which is a shame really.
I thought there might be a lot of people there as Ilford doesn't normally get screenings. Personally it is difficult for me to get there but when I have a ticket to use I'm very determined to use it or at least pass it on to someone else to enjoy. It is a difficult one to solve.0 -
Oh, and I saw 'jthecrab' had posted about 'The Wackness Screenings'. And I highly recommend this film to anybody that can get to those screenings. I saw this film a month-or-so back at a small, dingy press-screening and I must admit it has instantly jumped to the top of the list as one of my favourite films of the year so far!
I've been looking forward to The Wackness - unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a screening in my neck of the woods (Wandsworth is a bit too far) but I'm hoping there will be more screenings. I last saw Josh Peck in Drillbit Taylor and then I heard about this film which is meant to be good, will probably go and see it even if there are no other free screenings for it.0 -
I went to see Wildchild last night in Cardiff the cinema was really busy and there were still people coming in 20 minutes into the film, the film was really formulaic but very enjoyable and very girly. In the Cardiff one we had security guards on the door who were making sure nobody was vidoetaping the film0

It's already been done: http://www.fmuk.co.nr/ It's a really good site. I'm sure they'd be happy for you to contribute though, it's also very friendly.

Thanks sparky!
Hi shane, I can see where you're coming from and I used to be in exactly the same position as you, but I don't think there's any need for a new site when you factor in FMUK. Thanks to its wonderful members, it's a very well-oiled machine. But as sparky says, you'd be very welcome to help out.

Just back from Wimbledon and again another disappointing turn out for a screening.
This will definitely be the young teenage film of the summer. The girls I was with all loved it and I have to say lots of lol moments -mainly because you can remember just how you felt as a teenager! The kissing lesson is so funny but at the same time cringe-worthy!!
The parents were just embarassing enough for me to sit and think "I hope I am not as bad as that" but knowing I probably am in my daughter's eyes!
As a parent I would not suggest you see this unless you are prepared to know exactly what is going through the minds of the average teenage girl but it is true to life as to how important these matters are to them!
Overall this has been rated as a 9/10 by us just because as a parent we have all been there and as a teenager it is exactly how you feel.:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0 -
Just been to see Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging at Odeon Greenwich and I loved it!
Quite a good turnout - wasn't impressed by the woman at the end of my row who answered her mobile and had 2 conversations in the middle of the film!
I'd give it 9/10.Member No. 19 of the "104 free previews in 2008" club! (11 films seen, 93 to go)0
