If you go to watch every film with the intention of critically analysing it to newsnight review standards then you're not going to enjoy the film

I was watching a story about a lone robot, everything else didn't register with me

And if you watch a film without paying attention to it, how can you appreciate it? Each to his own.

Saw Wildchild at Cineworld Ilford, was quite empty today - not a usual venue for these free screenings and it showed. The staff weren't sure how to handle the tickets, also had to sign some sort of visitors register before going in. Very strange. They didn't take my email confirmation though.

Great cinema once you get inside, comfortable seats were nice. I enjoyed the film but as mentioned it was predictable and very clichéd, but it did have its funny points, I had a good laugh when the matron (not sure what she is called?) was driving along in her car with the music. And are the green routemasters still in operation in other areas? - I miss the routemaster in London. All in all, I'd give it a 7/10.

Just popping in to give my opinion on Meet Dave which I saw at Bournemouth yesterday. The cinema was about 3/4 full, mostly by MSE-ers I would say with quite a few more adults than kids.

Anyway, the film was obviously just nonsense and very daft - but that was it's charm. The kids certainly laughed in all the right places, lets put it that way. I think its a film that knows it ain't gonna win any Oscars.

I usually let my DD score the films I take her to as they are aimed at her more than me .... so the scores on the doors are....

    Meet Dave 7/10.

Been a while, since I last posted on MSE! Huge avid cinema fan/goer here (it's also part of one of my jobs), and like you guys, I'm trying to see as many films as possible (too many to see, so little time!).

Oh, and I saw 'jthecrab' had posted about 'The Wackness Screenings'. And I highly recommend this film to anybody that can get to those screenings. I saw this film a month-or-so back at a small, dingy press-screening and I must admit it has instantly jumped to the top of the list as one of my favourite films of the year so far!

i saw wildchild with my mum and we really enjoyed it. i loved the matron - she is sooo funny. The teens will love this and as Destresserai says its very much like mallory towers etc which i adored growing up i have to rate this as an 8. I was very dissappointed with the turnout though as it was only half full yet i couldnt get tickets for this - it was only the generosity of a fellow mse that i was able to see it. I really wish there was a way round this as its very unfair to take tickets and not use them or pass them on.

I saw wild child at cineworld ilford...it was so empty...bit of fun movie, but overall I dint enjoy the movie much as its very much predictable as said by destresserai..Opas, even we felt really funny, they asked everyone to sign before entering the preview screening at Ilford cinema ...

The cinemas were empty for both the movies I have been this week...WALL E and WILD CHILD. Can someone explain me why when people try for more tickets for the same cinema, they dont get it.....even though the screening are empty at cinemas?
