If you paid on a credit card you are entitled to claim from the card issuer the extra fare you had to pay another airline to carry you.
When Maxjet went bust, I got £1100 back which I paid them and another £900 to make up what I had to pay BA for two Club Class seats.0 -
Hi, it was me who managed to get a refund off of the Halifax from my Visa Debit card. Took a few phonecalls and having to quote various articles I'd found which got posted up in the Maxjet thread. In the end I had to go via customer complaints even this took several calls. I'll dig out what info I have and pm it to you.
It'd be great if you could post the info about the Halifax Visa debit refund - I booked using that too.
My insurance company says there's nothing they can do.0 -

But when I rang them earlier they said my VISA debit card wouldn't cover me.
Anyone have any more info on VISA debit card cover?
This link is to a Telegraph article which I quoted to Halifax http://www.telegraph.co.uk/global/main.jhtml?xml=/global/2006/09/16/cmdeal16.xml
. The person I spoke to took the details and filled in a form over the phone, before my claims was sent to non-fraudulant claims. It took another 4 weeks or so before I got my cash, so don't give up and keep hassling them.0 -

Which credit card company was that with moonrakerz? Anything online that I can quote them to make them shell out?
Booked through barclaycard for flights in May - don't know whether to go for a chargeback or try and get them to pay for alternative flights. Not massively keen on paying an extra £200 each-ish for flights....

I too bought an Oasis Airline ticket and due to fly on the 17th April, now they went liquidation, how do i obtain a refund in UK as i bought my ticket through a travel agent with my Maestro Debit bank card?
Damn those low budget airline, BA, Cathay Pacific and other airline charges expansive price for a reason:mad::mad:0 -
Me and 3 others were due to fly this friday!!!!
argh
unfortunately dobbadobs we too had Flexicover insurance but the bad news is under Section 6- Cancellation, What is not covered:
h) failure by the provider of any part of the booked Trip to supply the service or transport (whether as the result of error, insolvency, omission, default or otherwise). You should direct any claim in this case to the provider involved;
We tried calling Oasis but they couldn't tell us anything.
I've been trying to call Cathay Pacific for an hour and a half but I still can't get through to arrange alternative 'cheaper' replacement flights.
We will have to rely on Barclaycard but they are just saying they will send out a claim form?!?!
we're completely lost and being given the runaround by all parties and our flight is this Friday.
Please can anyone help us? :.(0 -
You can try calling Oasis from outside the UK:
you may contact our Customer Service Centres for immediate enquiries and assistance.
outside the U.K. please call +44 1293 596633,
available daily 0800-2000h local times.
I got through but what questions do you need to ask as everyone else tells you to call each other and you go round and round?0
