Afternoon everyone (((()))'s to all and special ((((((((( Smokie))))))))) you'r in my thoughts everyday.
Well after yet another painful restless night I got up at 5.10 made a coffee and started knitting and managed to complete 3 squares this morning. That's the reason I am late today, I resisted opening the thread after my embaressing attempt yesterday. :o:o
I have a pea and ham soup simmering ( I only made one on Mon but that was scoffed pretty quick) I've done hm Lamb burgers to go with mash, veg and onion gravy. I've made enough to take to DD and SiL (to be) to save them cooking when they get in from work, I walk their 2 Labs on Wed and Thurs so always treat them to some OS cooking.
Managed to get the vacuming done and as the window cleaners came yesterday, out came the vinigar and paper (not brown, news) so sparkling inside as well as out.
I have been trying to access my emails and after ages trying to reset everything I phoned Onetel only to be told the fault is at their end. Third time in 3 weeks
Will pop onto the knitting thread now and update.
    Take care all, Beth

Morning all :hello: (eeek, in fact it's the afternoon! What happened?)

Thank you very much to all who've suggested how best to heal my burn and stop it from scarring :T :A (though much as I am grateful, I think some of your suggestions are bordering on medical advice, which we're not allowed to post on here, so do be careful how you word things or you might find yourself getting modded by the MSE forum team :shhh: ) Purpleivy - are opsite dressings like those gel things you can get for blisters? I use them if I get blisters on my feet in the summer, and I think they're brilliant - why didn't I think of using those? I was hoping for a no spend day today, but I think making sure I'm not scarred for life might be a bit more important :D

Thanks also to icecubequeen for that info about the healthy eating project - I will certainly investigate it further and might get back to you by PM :T

redruby, it sounds like you're having a lovely holiday! I could almost FEEL the relaxation coming out of your post!!
Haribo - LOL at the hollow loaf!
Benthosboy - ((((hugs)))) - today is the first day of the rest of your life ;)
    ((((((((smokybabe))))))))
Churchmouse - for two-person portion boxes, try a pound shop or household discount type place. The plastic takeaway-style boxes - the deep ones - should be about the right size. They are freezer, microwave and dishwasher safe, and are reusable (though the lids have a tendency to snap after a few uses) :)

    Tasks for this evening include:
    - Finding my chequebook :o I owe another MSEer some money, and I've lost the bl**dy thing!
    - Making spag bol - was going to do it last night but didn't get around to it, so it's got to be today as the mince has been out of the freezer since yesterday morning and I don't want it going off.
    - Sewing the elastic onto my ballet shoes (I'm starting a short course of beginners' lessons tomorrow evening :j )
    - Might make another lemon drizzle cake as the lemons need using up
    - Early night ;)

    Love Rzl xx

    Hi everyone.
((((hugs)))) smoky and smokelets. ((hugs))) Martyn-things can only get better for you.
((hugs))) to anyone else who needs or wants one. I have just finished my 5th knitted square today-but i can only count 4 of them really as one is the wrong size. I must read the other thread as I have no idea where to send the completed ones-I found your link Mioliere for the wooligans and have joined-if you'll have me.
Just going to get ready for my physio this afternoon. I went 3 weeks ago and she gave me some exercises to do and said I should feel it pulling in certain places-all to help my back and I told her at the time that I felt nothing and I have been doing them during the 3 weeks and it still doesn't pull and my back is still in pain!!! Anyway I'll see what she says this afternoon.
When I get home from there I have to phone British gas to get them to come and fix the boiler as it is still freezing here with no heating. My OH is lovely but he does drag his heels somewhat at times like this-but it should be sorted this week. Apparently we can join their homecare plan even though the boiler is already broken down, and they will mend the boiler and we will pay during the course of the year-sounds simple enough without a big bill.Let's hope it goes to plan. Sorry guys I'm waffling again better go and do something constructive.

  • Hi Everyone

Back to work for me today, just at the tail end of my lunch break now and must confess to buying lunch in the canteen as I am so unorganised after returning from holiday.

Did manage to get one load of washing done yesterday and another load in the machine this morning, need to go shopping tonight for food and maybe get a bit of ironing done, at least enough to get me through the next couple of working days! I should also change my bed at some point

(((hugs))) to all that need one x

Then got a bizarre phone call from Asda Opticians - saying my lenses were ready to collect and I need to book a follow up.....I already picked them up last week and booked an appointment:rolleyes: She asked who gave them to me -I replied The Optometrist himself! - she said he shouldnt have done?? Well you cant get much "higher qualified" than him can you??:rotfl: The girl said they had to put my lenses in for me???? "DONT BE SILLY" I said :rotfl:

and just now a phone call from Talk Talk...about the broadband I dont have with them???!!

Obviously one of those days!! :rotfl:

I bought the kids one of those 8ft trampolines on monday from Woolworths - So maybe I shall go and have a "Theraputic Bounce" to relieve the stress!:rotfl:

Well that saying about there being no such thing as a free lunch is a load of rubbish, cos the cancellation of a meeting in my office has led to a trolley full of sandwiches and fruit becoming available :D My HM carrot and coriander soup can wait in the office fridge until tomorrow.

Shez, my ballet class is at the City Lit in Covent Garden - they do tap classes too, though there aren't any places left on the courses during the current academic year. Worth looking back when they publish courses from September onwards though - and fantastic value for money IMHO. Morley College (near Waterloo) does similar dance and performance courses too - their website is currently being refurbished but you can download a course guide here - looks like they're currently running a beginners' tap course on Monday evenings :)

    Hello everyone.

Seems to be a sad time for a lot of us.
(((HUGS))) to Martyn and anyone else who might need one.

Madly trying to sort out paperwork for a potential new job. It's with a bank so they want to know every little dirty detail of my life!

I want to bake a cake. Thing is, I only have two eggs and tiny bit of single cream. Not sure how I'll measure the rest but I have a relatively good eye so will give it a go. Wish me luck... :o

    Hugs and kisses to everyone!

Well, I have tidied the house and posted a couple of Ebay parcels - except one was a picture, and despite being very well wrapped I forgot to write Fragile on it - I hope it gets there in one piece.

I have also been thinning my seedlings ready for the hanging baskets - but its soooo tedious, I think I am doing it wrong. Might hop over to Gardening for advice. Why can't I just get plugs like normal people????

Best make dinner as well - have decided on Fish in butter sauce, with mash and some sort of vegetable.

    Hello all !

Been a lovely day, seached the town for a pressie for a friend who's got 70th birthday next week -no joy at all..........well not today. I'll try again on Friday. Today is early closing day here.......some shops open, some close.....I can never remember which ones...............lol
OH had to come back early from work yesterday - his workshop had burnt down the night before so he spent the morning trying to find furniture that hadn't been reduced to ashes. Not a happy bunny at all -today he's much better and got over the shock of seeing it all.
Our lads gone to stay with relatives for a few days and ex foster lad came up to help me de-clutter my computer room...........much needed. Managed to condense contents of two drawers into one...............where does it all come from ? He's coming up again tomorrow. All my photo albums are in a cupboard thats floor level -back breaking if I'm looking for anything so I want a complete change around.

Hope you've all had a good day and hugs ((((((((:o ))))))))))) to those who need them
