Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th April 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Another cold and frosty start. Yesterdays frost was so cold it killed the tomato seedlings in my greenhouse, also some of the cucs. So I am not too happy about that. I suppose I should have covered them up, but I thought the green house would be safe.
Not working today until 1pm, so I have the morning off. I have planned some fencing. Not the swordfighting type but 50 meters of stock fence and posts. It's about time I fenced in one of the boundaries in the garden and continue the 10 year process of renovation of house and gardens.
Worked a good 10 hours yesterday and then had tea and watched football all night.... can't be bad.
Well folks, have a nice day..

Lazy start for me today, dropped hubby at the station at 6 but I don't have to be at work till 9.
I hope Katy has a better day today, there is only so much wailing & knashing of teeth I can stand & it doesn't look like she's going away.
Hugs to Smokey, Mrs Mix & Martyn.
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning 9Neav and all the other early birds  Hi Hardup and Lyndsey, you sneaked in while I was typing
Frosty here again today, but I did hear yesterday that it is going to start to warm up after today. Well, it is nearly May
Bought a load of seeds from Netto yesterday, and they are something like 25p a packet, and buy 4 and get one free . I tried them last year, and got some great results :j
Work today, so sausage casserole and jacket potatoes for dinner. Pasta or rice for lunch - another Slimming World green day. I got weighed yesterday and had lost the 2 lbs I gained on holiday, so back to being good (apart from the Maltesers last night )
That couple have been on GMTV again who blew £100,000 they won on a scratch card, and now want the council to pay their rent. I'm not going to start again, you might nominate me for Grumpy Old Women :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

today whilst the kids are still:mad: mucking out their bedrooms I have paperwork too sort out we looked into changing the mortgage about 6 months ago but were locked into a deal which I forgot and it would have cost a lot of money to get out of so we left it now that has ended we saw the bank last week and it look's like we can go ahead with them on a much better deal but need to find insurance papers for them
I also need to see if my dad is eligable for any extra benefits as we are going to have to pay a private nursing firm to go in to help him shower
if I get time after that I'm going to finally do some baking as I haven't got around to it yet might make a steak and kidney pud for dinner if I get time:rolleyes:

Morning all
Am being very efficient this morning, I dont normally have time to put the washing on the line before a work day but there it is waving at me at the moment!!
Hope this efficiency lasts, we have the big boss coming for a visit this morning and am loooking to make the impression that I know what I am doing most of the time
Not much OS going on today - work-home-dinner-football (watching it, not playing it)-bed
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning All
Beemuzed - hope your headache goes away soon. (((Hugs))) to anyone who needs one.
Another bright & sunny day here, DS is at football training 10 - 3 today and tomorrow so will be quite peaceful. Will drop him off and take DD to Maldon where she can have a look around as she has quite a bit of pocket money & car washing money. We will go to our favourite coffee shop for a spot of lunch. Am just about to check online banking and may need to juggle some money about whilst I am there.
Think will be chicken & chips for dinner tonight.
Am hoping to get some ironing and housework done today - I havnt done any for ages.
Hope you all have great days.
x0 -
Morning all - bit late on here today; I had a bad night's sleep and then slept through the alarm and only just got up in time to get DH up and organised. Still, BM and WM both on, veggies ready to prep for tonight's Shepherd's Pie and everything ready for the rice pudding except I've run out of rice so shall have to get that later. I didn't get all the ironing done yesterday so have about half an hour's worth to do.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky and the Smokelets. Hope you are resting and finding some peace. We all think about you every day, Smoky.
(((Hugs))) to everyone else who needs them.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
I had to see the doctor yesterday about this little rash on my tummy which turns out to be eczema; I've never had that before so I don't know what triggered it off. I have a presciption for Trimovate steroid cream. We have a new doctor who is lovely but I swear she's only about nine years old! Surely she hasn't even done her GCSEs let alone medical training?! We hear such awful stories about GP surgeries in this country but I have to say that mine seems to get it just right. You can make an appointment whenever you want and not have to wait ages in the waiting room. I didn't have time to rifle through the magazines before my name was called! Just shows that it can be done to suit the patient as well as the NHS!
Well, I suppose I'd better go and get some more chores done. I have to go to the shops to get my prescription and a few other bits and pieces now that I've been paid from my part-time work. There was a hitch with payroll last week and I have had to wait a few days longer than usual - luckily, it didn't cause problems with my cashflow. The last thing any of us can afford these days is bounced DD charges!
Well, I'm definitely off now so I will see you all later. Another beautiful day today - my DH loves it now that he leaves for work in daylight and it's still light when he comes home! Hope you are all having some of this sunshine!

Just edited to say BEEMUZED - hope your headache goes away.

Morning everyone
frosty but nice and sunny here this morning.
My alarm clock was set for 9am but i woke up at ten to six:eek: - bet i`m tired later as i`m on the late shift.
I`m just sitting in the sun with a cup of tea sewing a pair of trousers and i wish this is what i could be doing all day.
The bm is emptied but i still have the dw to sort out and maybe i`ll be picking up that iron that i`ve been threatening for the last fortnight:D
Dinner tonight will be chicken & pasta surprise - it was a surprise to me it turned out to be so nice:rotfl:
My tea now needs a refill so i`ll be on my way.
((((HUGS)))) for Smoky and the little ones, hope that you get chance to pop back on soon and let us know how you are.
Have a lovely Wednesday everyone.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0
