Tesco online shopping

I agree with many others- I spend the time to review what I've put in my basket before I check out, which I would never do in-store. I am also not tempted by offers etc.

Definitely check out the codes board on here for money off codes- I've used one each time I shop and they always at least cover the delivery cost, often a bit more too. I only hsop online once a month though, then pick up perishables weekly.

I've used Tesco online for around three years, on and off. But I fell out with them a few weeks ago (too tedious for you all to read but their customer service really was shocking) so I did an online shop with Asda instead. It was a monthly shop, so not just a small job, and I found Asda's website FAR easier to navigate and use. Plus, it didn't keep timing out like the Tesco site. Delivery was a fiver but it's free if you spend over £99 and use an Asda credit card to pay, so I've just got myself one of those as my monthly shop is always over £99.

The other good thing about Asda over Tesco is the substitutions; with Tesco, if they substitute an item you pay for the product they send. With Asda, they charge you either the price you would have paid for the item you ordered or the price of the substitution, whichever is lower. I ended up with some Birds Eye fish fingers but paid the Smartprice price. And 48 Weetabix cost me the same as Asda's own.

I'm definitely converted and have no intention of setting foot (or mouse) inside Tesco ever again.

This is brilliant!!! This is exactly how I thought it should have been run! I've just done my first order from Tesco and I bet I won't get half of it as I asked for no substitutes otherwise my bill would have been doubled! Asda are in my town but they don't deliver yet - Tesco are in another town but do Good on Asda!

well i have always had a problem with the substitutions but got a result this week i ordered 4 bags of tesco bread flour and got 3 and 1 allinson bread flour but they only charged me for the tesco flour x4 so i did not pay the extra but i think this is a once off as i have never had it happen before

i found that with the online shop ta tesco they didnt have some of the value food i buy.......

I ALWAYS go for the £3.25 slot... I don't care if it means my sjopping is delivered 9-11pm on a Wednesday!!


Wednesday is tax credit day so I KNOW the money will be in the bank.

We don't have a car so I'd have to get a taxi home (4.20 last time I did this!) which would be considerably more than the delivery cost.. plus my bus fare to get there in the first place would be another £1.20.

I don't do any of the impulse buying, clothes browsing/purchasing and it saves me a smal fortune.. I ALWAYS manage to find a code which negates the delivery charge as well..

I've been shopping online since 2000 when I was pregnant with my 6th child..

ooh.. another tesco thing.. if you order something on offer.. say BOGOF.. the day the offer ends.. and you send back the lot.. they refund you the price of both items... found out the profitable way!!!

You can tell them what to send in substitution.. or refuse all subs.

Plus for me tesco is much cheaper than asda. the website is easier to negotiate.. and the delivery staff much more.. aesthetically pleasing

Funny, isn't it - I like the Asda site much more and think the prices of the stuff I buy are definitely much of a muchness with Tesco... and as for the delivery staff, The Asda guy wasn't much to look at, granted, but the Tesco guys were all complete munters - the ones I saw, anyway. But I've got my DH to swoon about - he's gorgeous! In fact, I'm off to have a look at him now...;)
