Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction! We land at 19.00 so by the time we sort out bags, car hire etc it'll probably be 20.30/21.00 by the time we get into Playa Blanca. Do you know if there will be any supermarkets/mini markets open at that hour? I'll have 3 kids with me and they will need food!

Urgh! You're cutting it really fine that late Girlzmum, as the supermarkets close around that time. There's a mini market open until 11pm at CC Papagayo... but not tremendously well equipped. My advice to you would be to ask your villa managers if they can supply a couple of bits and pieces so you can at least knock a meal together when you get in. Or... pop a couple of packets of noodles or something in your case just for that first night. xx

I thought that would be the case! The 8 month old will be no bother, the older 2 might not. We're near the Paradise Island hotel (should have put that in first post!)

How are you getting to Playa Blanca? If in a taxi as opposed to a shared transfer... then ask the driver to stop somewhere. There's a 24 hour garage on the way... just before you get to the Femes roundabout, and he could always swing in there. It's not a supermarket, but you could always find something. Nearesy supermarket to your hotel is Spar at PuUnta Limones... but I thik it will be closed (or closing) as you arrive. Sorry! xx

We're hiring cars - it's a big group! 6 adults, 2 kids and the baby so i'm sure one of us can go to the garage. I think I remember where the garage is.

Ah... now that makes it MUCH easier! Just get to the big Hiperdino at Playa Honda BEFORE you head south for Playa Blanca. It's less than 10 mins drive from the airport, although it's in the opposite direction. Eurospar might still be open at that time too - it's on the roundabout at Macher... left hand side. I'm not sure of their opening hours though.
Sorry - I should have asked about you driving... so used to people not bothering now. xx

PS: let me know if you need directions to either place.

The map lfc84 has given you will get you to the Hiperdino in the Deiland Shopping Centre. It's a decent size and is in an indoor shopping centre
Opening hours: Mon to Sat 09:00-22:00, Sun 09:00-21:00

The one I was referring to is on the other side of the dual carriageway and is massive (well, as massive as anything is in Lanzarote). Here is a link to a map for that one: MAP
Opening hours: Mon to Sat 08:30-21:30, Sun closed
    • Come out of the airport and take the LZ2 towards Arrecife.
    • When you get to a right turn for "Playa Honda... take that but keep driving forwards so you are running alongside the dual carriageway you have come off.
    • At the roundabout you can go straight on for the Deiland Hiperdino, or turn left for the larger one
    • If you turn left... then you will find yourself on another roundabout almost immediately. Take the third exit, which takes you left... but not as far as onto the dual carriageway.
If you have satnav on your phone... then those maps have coordinates for you too.

Alternatively I have found opening hours for the Eurospar at Macher (La Asomada branch). Monday-Saturday 08:00-22:00h It is also easier to get to, and in the right direction.
    • Come out of the airport and follow the signs for Yaiza - it will take you south.
    • After about 10 or 15 minutes driving, you will come up to a roundabout that has Eurospar on the left of it... you really can't miss it. Turn left at the roundabout and then left again into their car park.
    Good luck! xx
