Hester - I am beginning to feel sorry for katy! I still think you have the patience of a saint though! You did really well on those meat bargains, enjoy your steak.
I finally got the baking done, a batch of wholemeal and date scones and a batch of Twinks hobnobs which are delicious! This is the first time i have made them as I usually use my recipe from good housekeeping which is more economical (doubling the recipe needs only 6oz oats etc.,) but needing something with more nutrition in and remembering Twink made them for her grandsons I decided to give them a go and Mr Catz:cool: is loving them! So thank you Twink! :T I used wholemeal flour and replaced the syrup for honey and they worked really well.
Puppy is walked and 8 squares have been posted so I am now resting before starting dinner. Fish pie is made I just have the veg to do.

Hi all,
(((((hugs))))) to all who are in need.
Martyn- Glad to see you posting today and *ouch* how's the head now?
Catznine - glad you like the snickerdoodles. I made the other version today for the first time and boy are they sweet. Think I'll stick to the fruit ones, much nicer IMHO
Well so far since coming in from work this afternon I have made tea for tonight, stuffed sausages and mash. Made tea for tomorrow night, burger thingy in slow cooker with tomatoes garlic and chilli. (it's probably going to taste like chilli con carne) made version 2 of snickerdoodles and made a batch of version 1 snickerdoodles. Think that'll do me for tonight.
Catch up with you all later

Hi everyone! Managed to snatch a few moments to say hello to you all. Been very busy since I got in from work and just stopped for 5 mins. Got a busy week ahead of me as well but never mind!
I must say i do admire all your cooking and planting, I just don't get the time but one day I will! I am reading "The Horse Whisperer" and it's brilliant!
well take care all,

Hi everyone!
Hugs to all those who need them especially Smokey.
I've had the day off today looking after my friend's son [we swap our children in the hols to get work done] although have hardly seen the boys...they get on like a house on fire and are off playing the whole time. I took them to a local cafe for a hot choc this morning...it came with squirty cream and they were both so thrilled. Aww bless!!
Have managed to get a fair bit done on the OS front today...2 loads of washing are now drying, the cat's tray has been scrubbed out, the small person's school trousers have been taken up [for the 2nd time- I got him to try them on and they were fine after the last time and then the minute he wore them to school they were too long. Is he morphing into a hobbit one wonders], bathroom cleaned, clean washing put away and carrot and orange soup made for supper. Also found time to take them to the park and have my friend over for lunch [although admittedly I just opened boxes for that one...would have cut into our precious chattering time otherwise:rotfl::rotfl:]
This evening I have a friend coming over for a cuppa and will return to work tomorrow afflicted with lockjaw!!!

Hi There
Just sped read the thread - yes, I am back at work and things very pear shaped. There are some poorly Little ones out there, DHs, you and everyone else. Also hope the babas behaving themselves! Sleepless nights and bedwetting, well been there I am afraid but you do get there.
Oh Beth, don't worry about daily thread. I have done beezers - falling asleep, thinking it the morning and starting threads early evening thinking I had been asleep all night! We all make bloomers, honest!
See we have a few new posters too - welcome. We are a very friendly but zany bunch.
Well, came home tonight to the smell of paint and varnish. Just phoned the decorator and he reckons tomorrow the last day and that will be the kitchen finished!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, just so pleased so far so am looking forward tomorrow to coming home and that is it! Unfortunately it is showing up some wear and tear elsewhere but we go with that, I need a rest. Three years of huge house changes have taken the toll. The lounge needs done but will inch it on for a year or two as major furniture movement to do it! Now we don't smoke it doesn't need nearly as often.
Smoky and children - love and hugs.
Love and hugs to everyone else.

Hope head OK. Just pop in and say 'hello' - you don't need to say more than that if that all you want to say! However, we are here if you want to say more.
Take care and love and hugs to you.

Hmph. Had dinner ready for OH when he got home, cleaned the bathroom so he could have a shower, spent the day doing Ebay listings because he wanted to sort the house out....and he just had a go at me
. Declared dinner inedible, said I'l done nothing but sit on my bum all day, that he has to do everything etc (specifically get the milk, because I am not strong enough to lift up the tank lid). Git .
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
