Morning everyone
It's sunny but cold brrrr.
We're in the middle of decorating the lounge, and consequently the whole house is a wreck  Dust is everywhere from sanding. Today DH will be putting the basecoat on - so hopefully tomorrow we'll be ready to paint the colours :j
I could get used to DD being off from school, and DH being at home - when I get up in the morning the only person I have to worry about is me me me :rotfl:
Lunch today is last night's leftovers (Ranchero Pie), Dinner this evening will be either HM burgers or spag bol.
Have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hello all.
Thank you to all who've asked. I'm still around but some days I've barely got enough energy to keep body and soul together. The fact that I "clocked" myself with a lump of steel yesterday, narrowly missing losing an eye in the process didn't help mattersI've now got a lump the size of a ping-pong ball between my eyes and a headache to match
I'm off this afternoon and tomorrow so I intend to get the rest of my stuff out of the bungalow and into the m/home and be finished with this ridiculous situation that I'm in atm. The sleeping tablets are helping and very slowly, I seem to be catching up with some decent sleep.
Post Office this afternoon to post the final two parcels of the scuba diving gear that I've sold. I'm just glad that the essentials didn't sell and I will live up to my user-name one day and get back into the weightless embrace of Mother Ocean. (that's a bit Jacques Cousteau, eh? )
Hugs and thoughts to any one in need. Have a safe day and take care.

Umm doesnt sewers mean like drains - interesting thing you must be sewing Aussie
Anyway - Morning All
Bright sunshine here in Essex at the moment, very chilly though.
Didnt have a great sleep - business money worries - we have done something about it but will probably take over a week to come through & the vat is due thursday! Oh well might have to be late this quarter, cant wait till our funds come through as its all Im thinking about at the moment.
Nothing planned today, think DD has a mate calling for her sometime and will probably wander around the village so will probably get one of ds's mates over so he will be happy.
Yesterday DD went out with her mates car washing & they made £12 each. Neither kids wanted to go to the pictures so this is turning out to be a very cheap holiday (which is darn lucky).
Today have a little paperwork to do, some ironing & some housework. Also want to look further into becoming a Driving Instructor - I am interested in this - any driving instructors out there??
Chilli with jackets tonight.
Have a great day.
(((hugs))) for everyone especially Smokey & Martin.

Morning all
Frosty around here this morning but blue skies too so the towels that are currently going around in my WM will be out on the line soon.
Bit of excitement last night. We live on a very slight incline in a cul de sac and last night the neighbours 3 doors down parked their car on their drive and obviously didnt put the handbrake on properly. It ended up in our front garden after crashing into another car that was parked on the road. How it missed my hubby's that was parked on the other side of the road and my son's that was on our drive is short of a miracle. No one was hurt, thank goodness but I think he will be checking his handbrake in future!!
Hoovering, polishing and bathroom cleaning today, life can't get better can it?
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Hi all
CharliesMum - You dont have to use Microsoft Office - theres that freebie equivalent - think its called "Open Office" - just google for it and it will come up. Seem to recall MSE Martin mentions it too on his computer how-to article. I've got that one myself. I cant say what its like generally - gather its very much the equivalent of the Microsoft one - as I do very little with my p.c. (just emails and reading websites) - so I only got it because I couldnt understand why I couldnt open attachments to some emails (fancy that not being a "basic" thing that automatically comes with p.c.'s!) - so I had to get it for that.
Well - I've been !!!!!footing round the fact that I need to go on a diet - AGAIN - for a week or two. But did some motivational reading and planning yesterday and got on the scales this morning to see the extent of the "damage". Aaaaagh! - 1 stone, 2 lbs (okay, okay - I can hear a lot of you going "I wish" at this point - but it means I have an okay figure, instead of my usual slim one and cant fit into most of my clothes). Being me - I refuse to buy new clothes I dont actually need to accommodate my body having gone up a size or two - so its back to the drawing board -Slimming World books now put back in handy vantage point. I make that 8 weeks of dieting according to my calculations to get back to normal (assuming none of the dreaded plateaus).
Guess it crept back on again as I wasnt keeping my eye on the ball - what with other stuff going on in my life - there was all sorts of things going on at once and I was doing several sideline jobs (as well as the dayjob). But now I've been decluttering away - the sideline jobs have now all gone and I'm generally a lot more organised and life has calmed back down a bit (still not quite sorted - but working on it) - so its back to that darn diet and then leaping on the scales every week thereafter to check none has slid back on again.
Daft isnt it - all these bits to deal with outside work and at w**k (aka That Awful Job) its getting quieter....and quieter......and quieter. Fewer and fewer people and less and less work......and its beginning to much resemble a graveyard. Marie Celeste rules okay.
Anyways....have a good day all.
Moany Moany and mary43 - thinking of you - with the illness your mothers have now. <<hugs>> Pandora123 - not heard from you for a while - hope everything is going okay and maybe you'll be heading this way in the summer for castle-visiting purposes.0 -
Morning all...
(((((martyn)))) Sounds painful.... glad to hear the sleeping tablets are starting to work though, that will help. Don't worry about being able to write an essay when you come on here (like me usually...) - just let us know you're getting through each day or we worry...!!
((((((smokey)))))) - hope that tackling the paperwork & finances is beginning to ease up for you?
And more hugs to anyone who'd like them...
"Operation" does sound very mysterious .... can't wait to hear more!
Beetheebee - don't feel stupid at all - you can't expect to know everything & I'm sure you have many other talents
Last day of house-sitting (and peace....) - back home this evening & my little sis is cooking OS meatballs. Love it being the hols as I'm off too, so no having to get up & organised & out in the mornings... Not managed to look at any uni books either though & essay deadlines will suddenly hurtle towards me if I'm not careful...
Anyhow, have a good day all, and take care on icy roads!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all, should be getting brekie and ready for work, weather is vile and I really don't want to step out of the front door!
Feeling wistful, spoke to friend in Sweden Sunday evening, dd is spending 2/3 months with their family as part of her gap year. I booked our ferry crossing last night, which made it all seem a bit close.
I never thought I would be one of those anguishing over their LO's departure, but I fear it might happen! She's being uppity at the moment so heaven knows why I feel like this!
Good thing is that I'm going with her then flying home... on my own."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Ok now Ive put the thread right I can take my hair shirt off and plan my day. I was up at 4.35 due to pain caused by Neuropraxia, a bit like Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. Had a letter from Health Centre asking me to choose the Hosp where I want the ops to be done, and they will book me in asap. I need both arms operated on to releive pain in my arms and to stop total loss of feeling in my hands. Sometimes it takes ages just to type this much.
Anyhoo I put sheets and pillow cases out on the line last night as a frost was forcast, they're frozen so much I can nearly stand them up. The frost makes them so white, I think it has something to do with the frost killing any bacteria, better than using bio powder. Does anyone else do this ?
Boiled a gammon joint yesterday and will use the water to make split pea soup for DH's lunch and pop some over to DD when I take her dogs for a walk to the post office and send my squares off.
Thanks Aussie for you helping me correct the first post.:T0
