    Morning all!

2 days off for me - but as ususal they are action packed! :D

Am off to town later(walking) for a coffee with Mum, my sister is working a trial today at the cafe to see if she likes it so we will be checking up on her!:D

Later I'm off to Ludlow to get my nails done - expensive but the only thing I treat myself to as I dont drink or smoke and rarely go out!

DS1 phoned last night to say that the police are prosecuting the other driver in his first accident:j which is good news as his car was written off and because he was 3rd party couldn't get anything for it. The other driver is from London apparently. We had given up hope of anything being done after all this time(Nov last year)

(((hugs))) to smoky and Martyn - hope the heads not too sore!

    Catowen :hello: Hi!

chalky and anniestar - hope you're both well!:hello:

Off to feed DHs pigeons now so take care all! x

Hi there - just sat down with a coffee.

DLB - congrats on the weight loss!

BETHEEBEE - Don't feel stupid - I'm still learning how to upload photos! I hope you don't have to wait too long for your operation. Please take a break from the squares if the pain is bad.

MARTYN - Ouch - that must have really hurt. I'm glad you're getting some sleep now; hope that moving the rest of your stuff out is not too painful and acts as a kind of door closing on one chapter in your life and opening up another one to a better chapter!

Well, the ironing board is still up and keeps glaring at me every time I walk past it! I'd better go and put it out of its misery.

    Morning all,

Cold and frosty here in Devon, day four of holiday, we are off to plymouth today DD had her pocket money and wants to go shopping, so will have a wander around the shops and lunch out. The sun in shining, and looking out of the window it could be August  .

OH is cooking sausages for a sandwich on the electric hob, how does anyone cope with electric ? there is no control at all, if you turn it up or down you have to wait 10 minutes for anything to happen  , thats the only thing I would change here, give me a gas hob anytime.

Kathy hope all goes well at the DR, let us know what the mystery rash is.

Hester, hugs what a nice way to remember your mum, and  to your phone bill, lets hope katy stumps up the cash.

Mrs Mix, hope your joints feel better xx

    DG have a great holiday,

Hope everyone else is well, xx

    Smokey thinking of you xx

    Morning everyone,
    We've had an expensive week.
The car failed its MOT and we were rushing around like headless chickens trying to get it fixed as DS has to get back up to aberdeen on Sunday and DH drives him to london to catch the megabus very early in the morning. Luckily we found somewhere and are now £180'ish poorer. Ontop of £50 for m.o.t and re-m.o.t.
Then DH's motor bike exhaust fell to pieces and another £200 for a second hand one to be fitted:mad: Good thing we have a bit saved or it would have been very much more stressfull.
This week DD is home too as her school has over 2 weeks easter hols.
Its been lovely having the kids at home again. Just like old homeschool days.
I managed to wrench the muscles in my neck last Friday digging a bed for the potatoes so have been walking around very gingerly LOL
I did manage to wrestle the new covers onto the PVC greenhouses before the snow. There arent any seedling in there yet as the old covers had both torn with that high wind. Must start sowing the new vegetable seeds in there probably next weekend.
Today will be spent doing laundry as the weather looks just right for drying on the line.
**Hugs** to all who need them!
    Bye for now,
    C.

    hugs to those in want/need
tied to the house today as the builders are coming to do the inspection of the crack in the wall and the missing roof tiles.
hoping they come this morning so i can still go to work.

made 2 weetabix cakes yesterday, a batch of lemonade scones and a batch of date and walnut scones.
went to the pictures last night to see "in bruges" after yesterdays descussion on how much we hate excess swearing in film i have to say if you dont like repeated unnecessary use of the 'F' word along with really violent scenes DONT GO to see this film. nice evening really as we went for a meal afterwards and found a lovely local pub we havent used before i had a delish leek and mushroom taglatelle (sp) DH had jacket pots with chesse beans and salad. very nice.
got back and did some knitting while we watched damages.

had a busy morning blitzed the bathroom hall stairs and landing, checked DDs room is tidy as the builders need to look in there (just thankful its not other DDs room they have to go in:eek: ) got to dust the hall shelves (they catch the fall out when i hand brush the stairs) still need to wash up.

off for a coffee now then will catch up with the wooligans

hope everyones day has something nice in it

    Morning :hello:

bethebee - congratulations on working out how to start the thread :D Don't feel bad about not knowing how to do some things. I'm generally really good with computers, but there are still quite a few "forum-y" things I don't know how to do :o

mumzyof2 - I haven't seen you on the Daily for a while... hope everything's OK and you're managing to stay off the fags :)

BusyGirl - I hadn't heard that news story - that poor little girl :( I hope she is soon on the mend.

    Martyn - ouch! ((hugs))

icecubequeen - I am very interested in volunteering on a project like that. I tried to get into it last year but ended up being put in touch with somebody who needed my help more on a different project which wasn't really what I wanted to do. What I'd really like to be doing is training people (teenage mums, kids coming out of care, or maybe people with mild learning disabilities) in basic budgeting, food preparation and household management. Home Economics in the literal sense.

Managed to burn myself last night - was eating hot custard when I managed to drip it onto my chest just above my left boob - it's an awkward part of my anatomy as it's not really possible to hold it under a cold tap for 10 minutes as I would do with a burnt finger! So it has taken the top layer of skin off an area about 2cm by 1cm. It's in a really visible place, so I hope it doesn't scar too badly as all my tops and dresses are v-neck! Currently got a massive Elastoplast on it which is, erm, very attractive

Lunch is a portion of fish pie with peas, and dinner will be spag bol - it will be a big batch as I've taken 1kg of mince out of the freezer! I am going to look up the yummy recipe off the BBC website which I have used in the past. That takes care of the bol, anyway - I don't think I've actually got any spag, but I know I've got linguine so that will do just as well.

    Love Rzl xx

    Good morning everyone,

:hello: Taplady :hello: mrs mix :hello: Kyle :hello: Twink

:grouphug: and :hello: to everyone xxx

dlb - WELL DONE you are doing really well with your weight loss, i should try and shift the stone i want to loose, but if i try and diet, i tend to eat more, so defeats the object really!!!

I have read the thread, but cant remember any of it now, so ((HUGS)) to all xx

My friends husband is still in hospital, no idea when we will get the results of all yesterdays tests but hopefully it will be soon. My friend is in bits, i just wish i could do more to help, but will have the children again this afternoon so at least its a little less for her to worry about.

Its a lovely day here, a bit cold but lovely blue skies - hope it stays like this! Just about to empty the DW and get the WM on, will then whip the hoover around downstairs before the LO arrives after lunch - think we will do some drawing this afternoon!

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning,

Got up a bit earlier today :).

I have just completely forgotten what everyone said this morning. Sorry!

Today I will be cleaning the bathroom, changing the bed and carrying on with the decluttering - I am reallly getting into it now, and pretty much anything that isn't nailed down is being got rid of!

I also hope to get out in the garden and try out our new electric tiller. Have to do a bit of electrickery first, to put a 13A fuse in our extension lead. Have a feeling OH has pinched the socket out of the shed as well, so will have to put a new one in

Dinner tonight will be coq au vin, gratin dauphinois and veg, followed by HM apple crumble.

Hope you all have a good day
