Actually, last year, when he had them, the doctor refused to give me any lotion, saying its chemicals, and she dont agree with them, think for me though, if i've got them, a lotion is needed as i have long hair!
I dont agree here, wash your hair and towel dry........ Put lots of conditioner on and use brush to get tangles out and then use the lice comb......... It will take you a while but how good for your hair is that having conditioner on for 20 mins0 -

I think it doesnt help nowadays that a lot of parents have to work, instead of keeping child off of school and dealing with it the pressure is on them to go to work........... Not having a go at working parents btw :rolleyes:0 -
Yes conditioner and nit comb works for us. Every time my girls come back from their dad's, one or both of them is always infested:mad:
You need to get a nitty gritty comb though as they get the eggs out as well. They are expensive - about a tenner - but they are guaranteed for life.0 -

I think you must have been lucky, i remember having them, way back in the 60s!!
As to other suggestions for combing and conditioner, don't think i can do that for 2 weeks!! too lazy!!0 -
you don't need to do it every night. I do it twice a week for 2 weeks. newly hatched lice can't lay eggs until they are 7 days old, so if yu get rid of them before they lay eggs, you eradicate the cycle.0

we had a nit nurse at school, untill last year i wasn't even sure what they looked like, but we were in a hostel(long story) and one family of 2 kids, were riddled with them!! I sure found out what they looked like.lol!!0

Ok, I'll give it a go, but not sure i have them, not been itching, and as i have permed hair, i wash it and comb conditioner through every time, takes me abt 15 mins!! so maybe they havn't got a hold on me!!0 -

The poor child was in school uniform and mum was expecting to get a prescription and then send child to school........ Poor kid was so infested she had to be emergancy referred to hospital for mild sedation and treatment in the childrens unit........ We all wanted to take her home for some tlc x Some parents really dont think its a problem.........0
