  • Hello all

Looking forward to doing the monthly money shuffles across today and to-morrow :j
I've just backed up my phone as it's been doing some odd things this week, part of me hopes it's not on it's way out and part of me hopes it is so that I have an excuse to buy a new replacement :o

I went to a B00ts event a couple of days ago with family member who was getting several Christmas pressies (including a few for me!) What a lovely points haul they got with the various offers, £44 in points achieved and £29 off in other savings.

I've also managed to take 3 clothes items back this week which were Christmas pressies and I've rebought them with a 25% off offer so pleased about that too

Had a fairly spendy week with family visiting a meals and trips out but a really good time had by all

I must do a check of the various points/vouchers I have around the place/across cards etc so that I know where I am and I want to make a concerted effort to use them us as they just seem to accrue and not get used very often which doesn't feel the right approach at the moment :o

I need to get a few shopping bits in but should just be fruit and vegetables and I'll pick up some petrol too today and use a Mr S voucher

    Have a good day all
    Regards

  • Just lodged a missing claim (following TCB advice) as this has suddenly changed from tracked to declined and I've no idea why so hopefully they change their minds after reviewing my claim

This one now looking more positive after a few bits of missing claim correspondence it's now changed back to tracking so fingers crossed it gets paid out

  • Monthly interest shuffles complete for me and I'll do the family ones later

I've topped up the interest to make a further OP of £112.67, that might seem an odd amount but it's to take me down to the next hundred figure :p

Thanks for the reminder ATT, our TSB account now has some interest to withdraw :)

Sorry I never commented on your investments post the other day/a week ago. It all sounds uber healthy, but remember to take advantage of tax breaks like ISAs to try and get all your investments into a tax sheltered environment :T

    Morning all

Chutney all made with some lovely donated windfall apples so hope it tastes good as last year was my first ever attempt at chutney making and I was really pleased with the results. Had to laugh as when a family member saw all the lovely jars potted up they said, "you'd better not be sticking a bow round that and adding it to my Christmas present" :rotfl:

I've just asked Mr Ed to give me his humus recipe again as I can't find it so I'm going to give that a bash this week too. Tonight's dinner (cooking for family) will be steak with cream/pepper sauce, wilted spinach and a range of roasted veggies like shallots, sweet pots, peppers and aubergine

At one time out siggys on here could only be a certain number of lines and characters but it looks like that has been increased so i'm going to tinker and add some info about savings to my siggy too which is a good reason to [STRIKE]play[/STRIKE] study spreadsheets

I also realised this week you could have two T£sco current accounts so got a second one opened last night for family member. I see the T$B has changed the Plus account situation for new accounts so I'm pleased I got the two when I could as it looks like i'd only be able to open one these days

    Postathon alert :p

Gas and electricity bills in for the month at £27 and £17 respectively so pleased with that. I do have the heating on a lot anyway and now winter is really here (for where I am anyway) the heating will be on more and more

I had to use the car last evening and couldn't believe the thick ice that was already there that I had to dig off before I could move. Even stranger was on Tuesday and I saw a wasp and a Robin within 5 mins of each other

:o this is proving harder than I thought so I've decided to show a savings figure that doesn't include the various pots for Car, Pressies etc that may or may not get used up. So, on that basis savings, (that I consider can be used to OP the mortgage at some point) stand at £17,300

At the moment I'm getting a better savings interest rate that I pay on the mortgage so will leave things as they stand but I do have a vague plan of OP'ing some savings in Jan
