Key finance achievement of the day! Finally settling a long running utility dispute for a period when the BTL was unoccupied. Gawd knows where these people get their numbers from and they are so hard to deal with and a have frightening inability to produce the right numbers and bills
Lets just say it's been 5 months of hassle, I have a pile of paper inches high with all the correspondence and in the end I have paid them 20% of what they said the bill should be e.g their bills were massively wrong

Gally, did you find what you needed re the LL0yds Club Saver at 4%?.
Well done on persevering on bill ATT :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Yup, but I reckon 6 current accounts is enough for anyone
.
Errm, I don't know who you are but what have you done with our Gally? Our Gally loves the money shuffles6 isn't even trying GG, I help a family member with all their finances, I think we're up to 13 different providers with many of them having multiple accounts. I get to do the monthly shuffles so get my extra little fix via vicarious methods
Well done on persevering on bill ATT :T.
Thanks Gally, I know you're a fellow BTL'er so you know how these things can suck the life out of you so yes, i'm very relieved its all over

Hi all
Pay day is not too far off so nearly time to make the next OP. Hmm, tried to do a smiley but they're not working?
All credit cards are at nil and waiting for a few hundred to come back in from work expenses. I've also got a little unexpected bonus coming in the pay packet so that will be most welcome
I've turfed out the Chrimbo pressy cupboard and made a list of where I am so not many to buy now. I haven't actually touched any of the money I set aside for Christmas as I've been picking up bits and pieces here and there over the months so will likely use that money to make an OP
I'm not normally one to enjoy shopping but last week was shopping with family and was able to share a few of my vouchers with them, one was £10 off a £20 B0dy Shop spend which was very well received
PS, having thoughts of replacing all the carpets at home, eek!
Regards

Hi all and a very Merry Christmas to you all (still can't do smilies, must find out why!)
I appear to have forgotten to do a November update but made the usual £500 OP for both Nov and Dec which takes my OP's for the year to £6755 and I don't think i'll be making anymore until Jan now.
The last month has been very spendy! Christmas wasn't the problem but a number of unplanned things such as osteo appts, hair cut and not least I bought a new phone which I can't even bring myself to record how much it cost 8:& I've managed to persuade myself that it's all ok to buy the new phone as I got the best deal I could which saved in the long term, it's only the third phone I've bought in 20+ years of having them as I've always taken the free ones. I also used £250 of my Christmas fund money that was left over, I had been going to overpay that but hey ho and finally, I also got a good trade in for my old phone
Will try and do a better update, year summary, year ahead in the next couple of weeks
Hope you are all well
Regards

Hi ATT, I was looking to buy a phone as well. It definitely would have worked out cheaper to buy the phone upfront.
I'm having Mr Ts old one now
Have a very merry Christmas.

Oops *blows dust of thread*
Hi all, can't believe I've not posted yet this year!
Just logged on quickly to update my sig for the Jan update which I missed as well. Things ticking along nicely but couple of bumps in the way with January monies which though annoying didn't cause me any real hardship - I had some delays with c£1k work expenses being paid and by the time it was sorted I'd already paid the CC off. I'm also purchased c£150 sale items for a family member who was going to be away. They've been away longer than expected but hopefully by next week that will be sorted whereby they will either have kept all the items and repaid me, or decided don't want them all and then I'll return them for a refund
Also spend approx. £200 on unplanned home purchase lol
Just asked for TCB to send me £26 that has become payable, £20 which goes back to Aug 14 re a missing claim but all sorted now
I made the usual OP of £500 in Jan albeit I did it in 2x £250 as didn't want to pile straight in while expenses problem was still outstanding
Savings still building at a steady minimum of £1k a month too and I've joined the £12k in 12 months challenge on the savings board and saw a few of you over there too
Right, must say a few hello's on other threads then go and do some shopping!
Regards

Afternoon all
£500 OP made for Feb and £11137 added so far for the Feb savings and hope to add a bit more between now and my March salary
In the last couple of months I've made some amendments to my work 'package' so increased some of my cover, all over which comes out of pre-tax salary so more advantageous
Spent some lovely time with little ones in the family this week which was sorely needed due to brutal work stuff going on and I don't use that word lightly
Mortgage sig updated, yay
Regards

Shock and horror as my S@ntander 123 application has been rejected
I'm rather non-plussed by this, appreciate they have the right to decline but it never even crossed my mind they would decline me, it's never happened before? Wondering whether to appeal?
If I do appeal and get no-where I think I'll try for the T3sco current a/c at 3% and you can have two of them, it's getting harder to find places to put my money!
I applied for a MnS account for family member and they've been accepted along with the 6% savings account so all good there. I've hung onto a few inactive accounts for them in other financial institutions so will use one of them as a mule to try and get the £100 switching fee too
Regards
