    Morning all

Standard OP of £500 made for the month. I've also received a respectable bonus and pay rise so pleased with that .:j

The bonus will be paid part shares part cash and I now have the cash part with the shares to follow

Siggy updated, best job of the month :D

    Hi all

I joined Liv1ng Soc1al today as there were a couple of offers I had my eye on so there goes £35 on two deals :D Did do them via TCB though at 6.2% and also noticed they are linked to T£sco Clubcard so extra points for that.
    ATT

The CB tracked the same day which was good, what was not so good is later that day they increased the CB to 8.4 for a few days:rotfl:

I'm thinking about opening another monthly saver or perhaps a T3sco current account. Just need to do a bit more research first and also let the new MnS saver bed in so will likely open whatever I decide on next month

Talk about change your mind quickly, new Ll0yds monthly saver now opened £250pm @2%, keen to see how this pans out with my budget projections as now up to £1400 pm cash savings + standard £500 pm OP :o

For a long time I much preferred seeing the mortgage going down but now almost enjoying seeing the savings going up just as much
    :D

    Hi all

MnS monthly saver now up and running with first payment made. Regular savings now look like
    • MnS £250 pm 6%
    • Ll0yds saver - £250 pm 2%
    • Ll0yds Club - £400 pm 4%
    • Work share options - £500pm, paid before taxed so efficient and worse case scenario get all money back
On top of above have the £500 monthly OP's too and then I also make ad-hoc other payments to accounts with left over monies. So all in all making good progress removing the bad things from my monthly income :D

My new salary will kick in this month too following pay rise

Hope you're all doing well and haven't we had some nice weather recently :j

    Hi all

Lovely weather! April's pay now in my hot little hand. Money somehow feels tight for this next month but I think it will work through as is more a timing thing :o

I have just had a void period in BTL and BTL slush funds were low, the good news is I now have a tenant moving in imminently. In the meantime I think i'm going to have to pay out a couple of hundred and then can repay myself later in the month.

I've also been a scattercash and booked some summer holidays meaning a proper holiday away rather than a few days abroad here and there that I have favoured for several years so I've paid a couple of deposits too :D

Hopefully be back later with further updates

    Right, where was I

I've only made a £250 OP this month rather than my usual £500 but will likely make the extra £250 later in the month. I didn't want to chance paying the full £500 until I was absolutely sure of what this months funds looked like

The really good news is that my savings and investments now outweigh my mortgage by c.11k :j That's great but investments can go down lol and they were always for the long term and never featured in my MFW plans.

What it does give me is a real sense of comfort in that if something happens then I won't have to worry about the mortgage. I'm also finding work incredibly tough and my mind is turning more and more to how and when can I leave, so again knowing I'm technically mortgage neutral is a great place to be. I may even consider selling some investments sooner than planned but that something I really need to think through

I only have 40 months to go before the 1/8/18 MF date that I set myself back in 2008 which means on average I need to be making efforts to 'clear' £2963 per month in one form or another to meet this date. It will be really tough but I think I can do it and if I do miss the date then I don't think it will stretch too much beyond that

Going to save this post now as screen going funny!

If you're looking to sell some investments, it might be a good time to rebalance your portfolio? Everything has been on a tear, so maybe just sell off funds/shares that have become too unwieldy a chunk of your portfolio?

Congratulations on being mortgage neutral :)

Eeek, sorry Ed, almost a month to reply to your post :o
Mind you, feel sure you've had other things on your mind rather than the lack of my reply #Juliet :j

Yes, much wisdom in your words but I'm still prevaricating... :o

Well I made the additional £250 OP last month to make it up to the £500 but have taken the same approach this month and only made £250 so far. Should be able to make the other £250 OP again this month and then be back on track next month

Just transferred c£19 from TCB to my account and c£260 as a one off re extra income earned this month

I've also been given a MnS Gift card for £100 re some work I did as a favour for someone, it really wasn't necessary but none the less very welcome, i'm sure I can put it to some good use come sales or my holidays :D

I have a couple of birthday gifts to buy this month but that aside should have a fairly low spend month as freezer and stocks full, petrol in car so all good there. Last month included a hair cut and dentist so quite pricey but nothing like that planned for this month

I do have a massage booked for this month but that's already paid for
