• Hi ATT, I'm just having a catch up and saw your post.

You'd better put that tax refund in a safe place, as they'll no doubt want it back :rotfl:

Have you started your decorating? Or am I getting confused?

  • Hi Tilly, no you're not confused, well remembered, the decorating starts in about 4 weeks time, can't wait :j

That, along with some other house improvements I've decided on, is going to cost around £6.5k so that added to the £6k I spent last month on changing the car means the ATT savings have taken quite a hit

    Hope you're well Tilly

  • PS Tilly, re the tax refund :rotfl:To be honest it took me about 4 'reads' to work out it was a refund rather than a bill as the last time I spoke to them they said they reckoned I'd owe a small amount and did I want them to adjust the code to correct it, I said no thanks, couldn't have borne further tax code shenanigans

  • Feeling in good spirits :)

Mr T is starting decorating next week - it was going to be last week but too many jobs to apply for. He is tackling the hall, stairs and landing and the kitchen/breakfast room. 7 doors upstairs, 9 doors downstairs so he's mot looking forward to that lot.

No clue how long it will take but will look great afterwards.

Hope all goes well with the decorating :)

  • That's great Tilly and great to see the levels of spirit and enthusiasm continue in the Tilly household. My decorating is costing a lot, what is Mr T's day rate ;)

  • Well quite a good productive weekend so far

I was up early yesterday and although I woke far earlier than i'd have like it was good as meant I could get cracking. I spent 7 hours doing stuff in my house then went to my mothers to do some jobs for her. She was out until about 6 so I had peace and quiet to get on :D

Further jobs in the house this morning but still a lot to do but then isn't there always. I've been away for weeks with work so lots to catch-up on.

My biggest challenge at the moment is having no on-line access to my accounts. It's been three weeks now and on the surface you wouldn't think it would have such an impact on me but it has! It's really difficult not being able to see the accounts, move the money around, see if my expenses have been paid so really unhappy about it and no resolution in sight yet

  • Well I've finally got round to updating my signature as the last time I did it was July!

I've decreased my OP's the last two months so only made OP's of £267. With the various forthcoming expenses re decorating, furniture etc I thought it best to reduce the OP's until I see where things are and of course get on-line access to again!

I've had a payout of £37.26 from Amex re the cashback I've earned in the last 12 months. That quite a bit less than previous years but that is because I swapped to my T£sco CC instead

I'm off out for lunch today but not till much later. Need to call into M@rks and S too to collect a dress I've ordered. I originally bought it a couple of weeks ago but then was given a 20% off voucher so took it back and re-ordered it so quite pleased with that

Crikey, truly don't know where to start, I really should be better at updating my diary :o

Apart from Thursday it is rained day and night here since Sunday. I've not been working away this week which was good for a number of reasons, not just money saving, though with the dark days it feels like my lights have been on all the time so using up the electricity

On that note, just go my gas and electric bills in for last month, the gas was £26.47 so slightly up on last month but I won't compromise on being warm. The electric was £11.69 but is still £37 in credit. The credit is due to them cocking up the last refund and putting my monthly DD up to £18 so will have to do something about that

I'm not sure how many NSD's I've had this month as I don't really count them but I know it's been the vast majority of the months so that's good. I'm really trying to spend very little with recent and upcoming expenses of decorating, furniture and a few other home bits and bobs

Aside from trying to spend very little, I also STILL don't have online access to my accounts. The T$B say they still don't know what the solution is but they are working on it and I'm not the only customer effected. It's so frustrating and I know the MFW folk will understand what it feels like not being able to check and play with your accounts daily :o

My freezer is looking quite respectable as this week have made a big batch of curry, goulash and tomato and courgette soup. I saw the recipe on MFW so must stop by and thank the poster

This morning I have made £10 in free money, one a £5 gift voucher for a restaurant I use quite a bit and like (just had to do a quick survey) and another £5 which is a credit to my Amex card for linking it to TripAdvis0r and writing a review

Just made £100 OP to the mortgage which is massively less than the norm as has been so for the last three months, again just trying to keep a handle on money till all the house work is done. I know Black Taxi always says when you need to buy things/save reduce the OP's and I think that is good advice

Today is so miserable out that it's making me not want to go anywhere so I think some attacking of the paper gremlins and some more cooking will be the order of the day

    Hope you are all well

    Regards

Well I'm having a weekend that seems a lovely mixture of productive and relaxing. I've been concentrating on paperwork and admin type tasks and so far have two bags, (yes, that does say bags :o) down to a pile about an inch high

I've also started to tackle a box of items that I've not looked at for years. It's the only box I have like that and not that big but full of sentimental items and other things I prefer not to dwell on... Feeling quite pleased that I'm tackling it though

Another NSD and at family for lunch so all is good there

Also had a lovely Indian meal last week paid for by a family member for saving them some money on a bank related item :D

I've not done any cooking yet but planning on tackling some home made chutney later today. I've never made chutney before and it says it's a novice recipe so sounds like a good way to help use up a huge bad of windfall apples that I've been give ;)

Well in the last hour had a nice lunch but also submitted a huuuuuuuge on-line shopping order with S@insburys. It's the first time I've done that but it was to take advantage of a £15 off for £60 first on-line order so I thought I might as well use it

It's really hard for me to spend that amount but in the end I managed to spend £102 by adding some of my mothers shopping in too. Also was fairly well times as needed some of the more expensive items too. I also mananged to get a bottle of nice whisky reduced from £27 to £18 so that's a part Christmas present for someone all sorted

Not got the energy yet to tackle the chutney but I'm also sitting reviewing a sweet potato muffin recipe that I've had for ages that I'd like to try. Using a rice flour substitute as well so should be on the healthy side
