Anyone remember this thread?
Apparently onegirl is defying us sceptics and has paid off nearly £4k so far.

I have to say fair play to her.
Its a blatant copy of "Save Karyn", but why not?
If she's reading this - good luck!!

Definately. Obviously it depends on your circumstances but I started 2005 with a £10,000 loan and cleared it at the end of Oct 2005 (and also managed to have a 2 week holiday!!).
It was hard work though so not pretending it wasnt, but so so so worth it!!0 -
Same here, not bragging or anything but I've managed to clear more than £10K in a few months shy of a year and I've done it by no other means than sheer hard work and cutting back on non essentials. You kind of HAVE TO when you start getting into debt like I did so I just slogged my guts out at work and managed to eventually progress to earning more money. It makes me a bit cross though that people expect to get something for nothing these days (I sound old, I'm only 29).
I've still got a long way to go so there's a few more years of the same before I cut myself some slack....

Well done Molanole - thats excellent!! You do need to strike a balance between repaying your debt & having a life though, but I know that if I ever needed to save a deposit for a house I can do it pretty quick (again, circumstances permitting!!), I suppose the same I have done for travelling!!
I am 25 and feel the same!! People do expect to get something for nothing. I had no miracle ways of paying off my debt so quick, just hard work, no social life - it was tough but the best thing I ever did. And guess what, I didnt lose any friends because I couldnt make another night at the pub!! If they're true friends they wont mind & will be supportive of your situation!!0
