to be fair, I used to work in the in store bakery for tesco and although I made a point of scrubbing my fingernails before each shift, most of the time by the end of the shift they would be black from carbon in the ovens on the baking trays, chocolate sauces, etc etc. therfore making me look unhygenic when I wasn't. Also, tesco do not provide gloves when working with hot food, as do other places, due to the health and safety implications of the glove melting into the skin (rightly or wrongly I don't know, this is just what I was told). Also its not the girls fault if her manager wont have enough staff for there to be a dedicated till person

Panavia - I blame general standards being lower in all areas of customer service. Cleanliness, customer relations etc etc.

Don't bother about Tim - he LOVES Tescos. If you'd found a whole HAND in your food and posted a thread about it he'd give you a reason why it really wasn't a big deal and you should've just eaten it and not said anything! Trust me! Most people who regularly post on here are wise to him now.

You should complain about hairs in food and filthy fingernails. It is the only way standards have any hope of improving. That and vote with your feet and your hard earned cash.
