OMG what, I read it and thought it was her hands, what only her nails!

As I've said before, horrified is finding a dead body not looking at dirty finger nails. If you use exaggeratory terms then what else are you exaggerating on?

Oh dear !!!!!!you got no toys to play with tonight then:confused:

And yes I was horrified to see the filth on her fingernails... no exageration.

Dunno why everyone is bashing the OP, I'd be pretty disgusted to find a hair in my food too, and they should have clean hands, they are working with FOOD.

    | totally agree with the OP, at the end of the day a hair in your food is not appatersing, and as for the question as to why work at one supermarket and shop at another, its called freedom of choice!

I use to work as a mgr for Burger King, but that didnt stop me going to McDonalds.

I think the hands were clean, she just had dirty nails, but then that sort of job isn't going to be a clean job.

Aslo she technically not working with food as she not preparing it with bare hands. Shes serving it with utensils the that op is planning to eat by the looks of it. So her hands don't touch the food, dirt under nails will be stuck firmly anyway.

As for the hair, they float!

No I am sorry but dirt under tha nails is not acceptable at all in any way shape or form, whether preparing or serving food.
And if I wanted to get on my high horse I could also complain that she was NOT wearing any protective gloves, as many places have this...not sure if it is the law to do so though.

As stated above I work in a supermarket, I do not touch any food that is not wrapped, tinned etc etc..yet I am required at all times to have clean hands and fingernails.

Yes I can accept also that the odd rogue hair may also come into contact with food. But back to my original post, you will note that the server at no stage apologised to me for the hair being in the meal.
Where I work if a customer complains, your first response is ALWAYs to apologise to the customer. And then work to rectify the matter!

Well I work in a food manufacturer and guess what dirty fingernails is not aceptable in a food handler. Hair in food why do you think hairnets should be worn.

TBH it peeves me when I purchase a meal and the food handler also handles the money. I have refused food and would advise anyone not to eat a meal prepared by a foodhandler who also handles money.
Just imagine where that money has been before.
The best I have seen is when the foodhandler has got glovers on and still handles the money. What is the point of the gloves.
This is why cafes etc have different people operating the till to the ones who are food handlers.
My opinions are purely my own act on them at your own risk

They're not handling food they're using utensils. If they dip their hands in to scoop out your baked beans then you might have a point, but they don't.

Wrong they are food handlers. It may not be direct but think back to the advert a few months back on how bacterea is transfered.
If you want I could describe some of the thing a pound coin comes into contact with

Well then the descrition handler is wrong if their not touching it.

But then that just comes down to a stupid level. It's like saying you have to decontaminate every table after it's use. Just think, people may well have put some coins on the table whilst they were eating. You never know where the perrson before has been! Your hands are bound to have contact with the table.

But do resturants have to decontaminate everything after the previous customer has used it? No.

Why? Because theres really no risk.
