Tesco cafeteria!!!

Today, whilst killing an hour before picking our daughter up, My chap and I decided to have a bite to eat at the Tesco cafetria in our area.
All was going well,My chap ordered the food and drinks (service was very slap dash).

Whilst eating my meal (only the second mouthful) I saw a nmassive big black hair, my hair is brown and blonde). I was disgusted to find this, so took the meal back to the counter, and told the server what I had found. Her reply was "Oh I shall get you a fresh one"... To be honest I did not want another one as I had been a bit nauseated finding the hair in the meal. So told her I "don't want a fresh one thankyou"...she replied, "Oh I will get you a refund then"...Anyhow 10 minutes later after trying to find somebody who could open the till to give a refund, she came back with the money for the meal.
When she passed me the money I was horrified to find that her fingernails were filthy!!!
At no stage did the server apologise for the hair being in the meal, and I felt that she thought I had put her out by complaining... I was furious to be honest.
Only for the fact that my daughter rang us to say she needed picking up early I was all for going to the duty manager to complain, about the meal and the service.
I intend complaining tomorrow, but would love some advice as to who I should complain? ie the store, head office etc etc.

I work for a supermarket, and I can only say that I am glad for that girls sake that I was NOT a mystery diner!!!

What would you do?

Thanks in advance,

And how come you don't know who to complain too?

I think you should email Mr Leahy and ask for a million pounds compensation.

Or you could just avoid Tesco's cafe in future.

Just out of interest what was the dirt on her hands? A small amount of the food she has to serve, it happens!

Does she have to touch the food though? I bet she doesn't.

I said that we were using the cafeteria...I did not mention shopping:confused:

Besides, just because I work for one supermarket, it does not mean I have to shop there only?

I know that I should complain to either the store manager, or head office, as I said in my post.
I was just asking what others would do.

I am not out to get any form of compensation... The service and the food were substandard!! If everbody had the same attitude things may get worse.
Hygiene is paramount in this situation.

OMG what, I read it and thought it was her hands, what only her nails!

As I've said before, horrified is finding a dead body not looking at dirty finger nails. If you use exaggeratory terms then what else are you exaggerating on?

Hairs float for gods sake, it could have come from anywhere. Providing they are wearing hats then it's just bad luck.

Her fingernails were filthy...as in dirt under the nails, this was the same girl who served us the food. I know the difference between, slight dirt and filthy!
And YES she did have to touch the utensils that she served the food with.

Her hands should be spotless...full stop!
