If this member of staff couldnt be bothered to do such a simple task of cleaning her nails, they obviously have some hygene issues and no im not over reacting as fingernails pass on bacteria which I do not want if I am being served food.
Even if her hands were clean, her nails still harvest germs as do rings, this is also a hot spot in hospitals therefore I feel the OP has the right to raise the issue and mention it.

See my above post. What about that risk? Dare you leave your house?

How many people scrub their finger nails before making food/eating. Do these posters obsessed with finger nails do it everytime before they eat?

You seem to have more of an obsession about the dirty fingernails than anybody else!

My original post addressed more than one problem, not just the fingernails being dirty.

Quite frankly if you feel that having hair in your food, and dirty fingernails is acceptable when serving food, then I don't see what you have to offer to this conversation.

The amount of times at 2 AM on a Saturday morning I've had a burger from some bloke who I bet probably hasn't put his hand in bleach for an hour before he started work but thats never made me ill.

If I found a hair in a meal then I would just take it back and get a replacement.

If you want to make a fuss from trivial things then no, you won't like what I'll offer this thread.

Sorry what you term trivial, and what find trivial appear to be very different.

Maybe you will find it trivial one day when you are very ill with food poisoning caused by somebody's bad hygeine!.

But then maybe that won't happen.

oktim29 with the greatest respect the OP did not originnally post for you to start some drunken slanging match.

panavia if that was me and I saw the fingernails whilst she was serving up your food I would have changed my mind about eating. The hair would have made my stomach churn, I would have left all the food and DEMANDED a refund. I know this site is about moneysaving but this does not come into it at all. At the end of the day all you went in for is a fresh meal to be be served in a safe environment. It drives me mad seeing food handlers handling cash. I am sure that Tesco will provide them with gloves which should be changed for a fresh pair when handling money.

If you still feel strongly in the morning about I would ring your local environmental health officer (EHO). My line of work in the years has delt with them on numeous occasions and they really are nice normal people just like us there to help.

Its not about complaining or getting soemthing free.....Its about heating safely!!!!!!

    Best regards

With respech it's an open forum and I'm entitled to my opinion. I've done no more slanging than the op has.

    What company runs the caf?

Tesco’s? Some are run by Eurest.

You could do what a neighbour of ours does.

Visit these supermarket cafeterias at the end of the busy periods and then complain about the untidiness, cleanliness or poor service and get their meal free.

Or complain to head office to get vouchers.

    Whatever floats your boat.

    Once I have a problem I don't go back.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
