    Morning all....

Ok - am I living in a parallel universe then?? It is absolutely beautiful weather here - I am sitting in bed, window open, looking out at blue sky & sunshine, while watching BBC breakfast & seeing pics of heavy snow everywhere....?!?!??! Very surreal.... but Eastbourne often seems to have its own little micro weather system :) Going over Kent way later (Paddock Wood ish) to house sit for a couple of days - wonder if it's different over there??

((((((hugs))))) to those needing them, esp Smokey & Martyn. Well done Master Catowen & hope your baby is better soon Gin.

Must go back & look at rest of yesterday's thread to see if there's any more pics of Mr/Mrs TiredMum's holiday.... Will we be seeing pics of others currently away or just going...?! :)

No OS happening here as I'm off in an hour or so (really should get up & pack..!)

Have a good day everyone else - enjoy the snow those who have it

  • Morning everyone!

Bright sunshine in York this morning but I bet its cold (not ventured out yet!)

Was woken at 7.30am this morning with a text from my boyfriend with a picture of his garden in Reading under 3in of snow!!

Not much planned for today - my son has a football match in the afternoon provided the snow stays away so not planning on spending anything at all today, although im just off to the newspaper coupon summery board to see what MOC are available today so I might pop round the shops to buy papers only! I have taken a chicken casserole out of the freezer so we will have that tonight with pots, carrots and brocolli and yesterday my son and I made a giant jaffa cake (recipie found on one of these boards) but made mistake adding the jelly as I poured sone of it on while it was still liquid so it soaked through the sponge! Never nind - I put rest of the kelly in fridge to set slightly and then put it on. I then added the melted chocolate and its currently in the fridge waiting for pudding time! I can get 8 slices out of it and it cost just over a pound to make! Gonna serve it with a scoop of ice cream!

    Good morning everyone

No snow here, bright sunshine actually. About to enjoy it in the conservatory with a cuppa and my book. Then off out as we're nearly out of cat food. Still housework to do - one more load of washing, plus hoovering, cleaning bathrooms and ironing. Tea will be chicken curry (its a new recipe so i'm looking forward to trying it).

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all,

Smoky, (((hugs))) Good to read that you are getting lots of support from your family.
gin, I hope the baby is better soon.
    Jannyannie, have a great holiday.
Catowen, congratulations to your ds and his team.

    Brrrr, it's freezing here.

I spent all of yesterday in the garden and got loads done. All the herbs are now tidied, I dug over the vegetable patch and added fertilizer so it’s ready for the seedlings to go in when the frosts pass and washed all my pots ready for planting.

No snow here this morning, just lots of sunshine, but it's very cold so I don't think I'll venture out to the garden and will spend the day baking for the packed lunches instead. I have mixed feelings about the kids going back to school on Monday...I'll miss their company and the lack of routine, but boy will the house be a whole lot tidier!

Tea tonight is roast leg of lamb that I bought it when it was on special offer at Easter…it’s enormous so there will hopefully be enough for at least two night's meals.

Off to pour another coffee and waken up properly…

    Have a lovely Sunday,

    Pink
  • Morning all. It's a winter wonderland here, a couple of inches of snow but the sun is trying to come out so it won't last long.

I've just waved goodbye to my darling DS21 who is on his way back to uni :( won't see him for about three months now. He's so easy to live with, I miss him heaps.

We've just polished off the last batch of HM teacakes for breakfast so I'm going to go and put another lot into the BM. Otherwise not much OSing going on today, I'd hoped to go to the garden centre and pick up a growbag or two for my veggies but I'm not going out in THAT lot :rotfl: .

Finally got my new credit card yesterday so have been able to order my new pre-payment certificate for my prescriptions, thank goodness. It saves me a lot of money even though the costs have just gone up again

    Have a good day everyone.

Well! Shopping didn't go as I had planned, planned £30 and it was nearly £50  but I got lots of nice things. Will sit now and try and make a menu plan for next week and see how long I can go with No Spend Days! They don't always have happy chicken in big sizes, so had to get that while it was there, so that was £6 to begin with. I got to the bargain veg first though and got a few good things there. 3 large bags of mushrooms at 40p each. Will modify meal plan to accommodate. Also got double mince for HM burgers, so some to stash. It soon adds up, the extra! Never mind. Will update sig (forgot to do it last time I shopped!) and see how we go.

The fridge stuff is away and my coffee is made, so am sitting in the sunshine (behind glass!!!!) and having 'a few minutes'.

  • Morning everyone! :hello:

Just a smattering of snow here in Cambridgeshire today - a bit like someone opened a packet of icing sugar and shook it around a bit :snow_laug

Woke up this morning only to realise that OH and I had forgotten his parents' wedding anniversary yesterday, whoops! Cue apologetic phone call this morning! Think we got away with it...

Need to get a few cards organised this morning - a belated wedding anniversary card for the in-laws, a anniversary card for my parents, and birthday cards for no less than five family members in the next couple of weeks. Think I've got appropriate homecrafted ones for all but one of the birthdays (a 21st) so will have to look in the shops. It's my best friend's wedding on the 19th, and I need to sort out the present - I'm having an enlargement printed of one of my favourite beach shots that I've taken - will try and add the photo here:

  • B*****! Can't work out how to get any text in after that photo, grrrrrr!!! Just couldn't get the cursor to appear after the photo!

So part 2 :D I've bought a lovely frame for the photo, so all I need to do is get the print done and wrap the present up. We've gone for this as a present as best friend and her soon to be husband gave us a lovely 3D picture when we got married, and whenever I look at it I always remember them and all the great times we've had, especially at uni where we first met :) So much more personal than dinner plates or napkins, however nice they might be!

Posting that photo reminds me that I need to finish off my Christmas holiday scrapbook BEFORE we go on holiday in four weeks time :D Need to get some prints sorted for a sort of portfolio too so must get organised :D

Roasted pepper and courgette tortilla for dinner tonight - were supposed to be having it on Friday but really didn't feel like it when I got home. Think there's some wine left over from last night - nearly spilt a full glass towards the end of last night's episode of Doctor Who - won't spoil it for any Who fans who haven't watched it yet, but OMFG!!! :D:D:D

 at redruby - hope you're having a fab time, if you do get to the Eden Project you'll hopefully find Bulb Mania still going strong - the biomes look lovely surrounded by 1000's of tulips and daffs :)

Big hugs to everyone to needs/wants them as always
