OS Daily Lazy Sunday April 6th 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 5th April 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
.
It's looking very dark out there, but Cornwall does not get snow very often these days and I doubt whether thats snow clouds rolling in. One thing is for sure, it's not outside weather today and the garden will get no attention at all.
Church this morning and the kids have band practise after, so we will slip off to Comet to buy a new kettle and check out bread makers. I fancy a Panasonic that everyone is harping on about, but we shall see....
I don't want to do a lot today, but kids go back to school next week, and so we will have to bake a few things and sort out uniforms etc.
I tell a lie, IT IS SNOWING !!:j First time in 18 months. Best get the camera out before it melts...
Well folks have a nice day...

Hi N9eav and all who follow
Seems we crossed, like you I only post the sticky and then go back, so cancelled mine out, I am sure someone will kill it later. We have a Panny N9eav, and DH is getting a dab hand with it. I decided that if we were going to have one, then it might as well be one with good results and splashed out on the 255. Ours was from Amazon, don't know how the prices compare atm.
Don't quite know exact what we are doing yet, maybe going to look at a caravan with our nephew, the friends who were coming over this weekend had to cancel as their sil (away from home) had an accident and they were baby sitting, so large piece pork now thawed, will use rest up for sandwiches or re-freeze once cooked will see. Will see Great Neice anyway today as have a small pressie for her from Spain, must give it her before we go off again.
(((HUGS))) all round - Martyn don't think I saw you posting yesterday? ((Smoky and LO's))
Just checked, we have no snow but we do have Sunshine atm, 0 degrees though.
Enjoy your lazy Sunday if you can.

Morning N9EAV and DONNY-GAL – I am so glad it wasn't me this time! I started two threads the other day and neither of them were necessary! Feels cooler today but we don't usually get snow - famous last words, eh?
I have just read through yesterday’s thread at speed so I can’t remember much from it.
SMOKY – thinking of you every day; hope you are getting some rest.
CHURCHMOUSE – :hello: :hello: :hello:
REDRUBY – I don’t know Stokenham but we love Kingsbridge! There’s a lovely registry office half way down a hill there and we went to a special wedding there 11 years or so ago; it was great because we all trooped from the registry office through the town in all our wedding finery, all laughing and giggling in brilliant sunshine, and ended up in the local park taking photos. One of the best weddings I have ever been to because they were two of our favourite people. It is a very special place because it was my DH’s brother’s wedding and, sadly, his lovely wife died four years later leaving him and a three year old son; they had moved up to Norfolk which is where she died but her ashes have been scattered over the park in Kingsbridge. I love that part of Devon so much. I don’t want to spoil your holiday with that story – it’s just that Kingsbridge is dear to my heart and you have made me think of all the good memories I have of a dear SIL. Oh, dear – I’d better move on.
Today, I intend to do a pile of ironing. DH said he will do it if the weather’s bad but, if it’s good, he will clean the cars (yes, mine as well, he always does!) – so, do I wish for good weather or bad? Good means a clean car, bad means the ironing gets done! Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place! Not a bad choice, though!
Well, I’d better go and grab a shower so, see you all later, (((hugs))) to everyone whether they need one or not and have a great Sunday.

no plans for today. the cable television doesn't appear to be working (again ) so the kids wont be happy. all i want is to watch the weather and headlines. no snow in cardiff at the moment, but it is very cold.
happy sunday to you all.0 -

Good Morning All
(((Smokey))) & (((hugs))) for anyone else who wants one.
Gin - hope your baby is better very soon.
Its snowing here but not settling at the moment. Hard to believe that Friday evening we all had red faces from the sun, oh well the joys of living in England.
Dont know what the kids will do today, DS will find some sport to watch I suppose & DD will probably be on her laptop - she drives me mad sometimes, is very sociable when she gets out but getting her out can be a problem.
I am planning to put on some tracky bottoms and clean the kitchen or at least some of it, have some ironing to do later but that wont take long. Also have some paperwork but that will be ignored until tomorrow.
Roast pork with all the trimmings for lunch.
Off now for a quick surf whilst I finish my tea.

Morning everyone
well it`s snowed overnight here, i couldn`t believe it when i went to let the dogs out. It`s only a thin covering but it`s very cold, hope it warms up a bit later.
Plans for today are taking rellies to the shops (we do this once a week as it`s the only time they get to leave the house) then hopefully some cooking and baking for the freezer. We won`t be having a roast dinner today but will be having the tuna fishcakes that we were having yesterday after putting them off again from the day before IYKWIM
We had a delish takeaway last night as a treat so that why the fishcakes didn`t get made
The bm has almost finished and the dw too, the wm didn`t go on last night so thats one less thing to empty.
Chrisca50 - glad you saw the quidco/betfair thing, we didn`t win anything on the national but have the quidco money to look forward to mine will go straight in the holiday pot for later in the year:D
I`m embarrassed to say that i forgot to watch the bloomin race:o
I took the houndies for a walk and came back and that seems to have wiped it from my mind lol , it was a quarter to five before i realised i`d missed it:rolleyes:
Right off for my third cuppa then the chores beckon.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all.
Hope all are okay. If not , you are in my thoughts.
I didn't post yesterday as I was quite low and couldn't muster the energy to do much at all. Fortunately, last night an angel appeared:T :A
and metaphorically kicked my a**e for me.(that's me in it again.....:rotfl: ) As a result of that and a reasonable nights sleep, I feel altogether more human today.
It's just started snowing, my toast is burning, and the pot of tea is mashing so I'm off to see what today has to offer.
Have a safe day and take care.
