I'd love to use the piggybank principle but I'm self employed and money comes in bit by bit, so I can't sweep it into bills accounts etc once a month. Still looking for a good adapt to this idea that suits the self employed

It has been a while since anyone has done a review or post about automated budgeting software.  Do people still prefer spreadsheets?

After a bad year I have re-opened my Annual spreadsheet on Open Office. Generally it is verty good and I can continue to use it BUT  as I have been out of finace for 17yrs now I have forgotten how to do copy a formula !!!!!  I have 12 months with item pages in each month (groceries/toilet & cleaning/others) and regular payments (council tax etc)  which link to an annual sheet with annual budget totals as well as income. The individual pages link to monthly regular payments then these totals feed into the same columns on the ammual shhet.  I have formulas with totals on main sheet but I want to copy the formula   =IF($Jan_Reg.$C22="";"";$Jan_Reg.$C22)       into a           =IF($Mar_Reg.$C22="";"";$Mar_Reg.$C22)    but even when I change Jan to Mar it will not do it.  The other 11 months are fine.  I know this sounds complicated but it is just the formula part I do not remember how to do.   If any financial whiz kid out there can help an old lady I would be so pleased. Thank you

Apparently no-one did, or there would have been replies in this thread, or a PM to you.
Remember, if you can't remember how to so something in OpenOffice, or most software, tapping F1 will bring up help.
