    Hi All,

I've filled in the Budget Planner on MSE, not the Excel version though as couldnt get that working.

I have a meeting with the bank next week in order to discuss my account as they want to withdraw my overdraft facility. Is it possible to save my Budget Planner to a memory stick and print it out so that I am able to take it along to the bank?

    Thanks,
    Allison.

If it is the BudgetBrain.com planner tool then see this post : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=29559423&postcount=18

  • I would like to do a budget plan or income and expediture to see where my money is going. I used to use MS Money. I know one of the banks now offers this service with its account. Barclays doesnt. Does anyone know and good free software programs that I could use to show me in pie graphs where my money is being spent :) Thank You in advance
  • You can find some free alternatives to MS Money at http://alternativeto.net/software/microsoft-money/ and http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-personal-finance-software.htm (which includes some online tools), but if it's just pie charts you want, any spreadsheet program should do be able to do that.
  • I used to use MS Money when it came pre-installed on my old PC years ago, and Microsoft since then has discontinued and stopped supporting that software. However I've recently found Microsoft Money Plus versions (Sunset Deluxe & Sunset Home and Business) are available for download free from the MS website. So if you Google "Microsoft Money Plus Sunset" and follow the link to the Microsoft website (the top link I think), you can download a new free copy of MS Money.

there is a website named vertex42 (just google it) where you can find free excel budgeting spreadsheets to download. There are many options so probably will have one that should meet your needs.

  • New Years Resolution is to get my money sorted. I'm earning well enough, but I still have no money!
    Food planner would be good.

Also, I read that it's useful to have several bank accounts different outgoings. Do I have to sign up to numerable banks?

    New on these forums. HI!
  • I've made my own Excel budget planner which suits for my purposes....ie it's in a more condensed form than the MSE one.

One thing that I believe that can't be said often enough is be 100% honest with yourself when filling this in, its the only way to get a true picture of what is going and where.

When i did my first drafts, i didn't account for every outgoing because, in my mind, it made me feel better about filling in the details, so when it came to the end of the month, me and the wife couldn't understand why we didn't have anything left.

Since we were honest with ourselves, we have now got a set budget, we are paying off debt quicker than just minimal payments, overpaying on the mortgage, and we are also putting money into savings going towards a trip to Disneyland in 2014.

I'm sure the honesty tag has been iterated many, many times but it has to be the starting point of getting out of debt and your money in order!
