www.sipdiscount.com and www.voipcheap.co.uk are still free to landlines. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
I have just noticed my account has gone down and on their site it says free calls online P2P. Which I presume means computer to computer. When did this change? It also advertises voipcheap, so I presume they are the same company.0

VoIP Buster, VoIP Cheap, Sip Discount, 18866, 1899, 18185 and many others are all the same company.
However I have no idea which one you are referring to.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Voipcheap uses a proprietry protocol which I presume, like skype, it uses P2P.
A warning for all those with ATAs, this service obviously won't work with your ata.0 -
Sorry I was referring to voipbuster. Also, I am not sure what ATA's are? Looking at the voipcheap site, it says you can phone certain countries' landlines including UK. So, I presume it is the same conditions as voipbuster 5 euros in an account etc...0

VoIP Cheap is £5 top up, was £1, works the same way as VoIP Buster.
An ATA is a analogue Telephone adaptor, allows you to plug a standard corded/cordless phone into it and it connects to your router (some in-between Ethernet modem and PC) therefore allowing you to use VoIP services without the need of the PC switched on.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Signed up with Voipcheap yesterday, partly because they are still free for UK calls, but also because I noticed that calls to Australia (I make quite a few) were also Free -
Today they have started charging for calls to Australian Landlines - (only 0.5p Min - as opposed to 1cent p/m on voipbuster and 1.7p on skype),
I dont think it will be long before voipcheap start charging for UK calls.
Its becoming difficult to choose which one to settle with - as the VOIP prices seem to fluctuate constantly." He who knows does not speak. "He who speaks does not know. Lao-tzu Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

I have contacted 18866, 1899, 18185 etc (Yes all same company) to ask them if they would offer the same rates via their VoIP service (18866 / 1899) as they do for their BT landline customers. I would be happy with paying 3p/4p per call. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
