it's still working...like you say, i'm not sure why ??
only thing I can think of is that the anti-virus identifies that part of the software as "dodgy"
mine has "heuristics" which looks for virus like activity....even if it is not on the list of known viruses
I will see if it still works tomorrowEx forum ambassador

Browntoa how are you connected to the net?
Im using a laptop wireless- you think it might have anything to do with the router and inbuilt firewall?
Also is it working with AVG back on?0 -
I'm using a BT Hub, it's a test one for a trial I'm doing for them but I have the internet settings set at lowest, it's not wireless connected to the hub although it does have wireless capabilities, I use a usb - rj45 to connect it to my Pc
it was still working with AVG running again, and was still working after a reboot but I'll see in the morning....I know AVG is known for blocking incoming email sometimes, although it allows outgoing, that was the reason I turned it offEx forum ambassador

The following Destination ports need to be allowed on your firewall:
UDP 5060
UDP 11112
UDP 10300 - 10311
UDP 6901 - 6920
also found someone else posted this
On the router the following UDP ports has to be forwarded: 5060, 5062, 8000-8002, 30000-30021 to the PC that is used to make calls
5060 seems to be the Listen Port...wonder if that means incoming speech ??Ex forum ambassador

Where did you get this data? Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
googled Vopibuster+ports
I'd aready seen 5060, 5062, 8000-8002, had been playing already on my firewall...5060 is the standard one from what I read, like port 110 for emailEx forum ambassador

I have opened the ports you suggested in windows xp firewall and it does seem a bit better. It still fails to connect to some numbers on occassions (e.g. works fax number and works auto attendant switchboard). I suspect a temporary fault at voibuster's end.
It took some time to manually open the 30 ports. Is there freeware firewall software that allows blocks of ports to be opened in one go e.g 6901 to 6920?Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Been using Voipbuster and so far has been great. Are 0870 or 0845 numbers free or do you get charged for these?
Quick thanks for all the advice on MSE, as I am now using Skype for overseas and Voipbuster for UK landlines.0
