Stabilo wrote:Please recap (YES OR NO):
1. You have obtained a free Sipgate telephone number
2. You have installed xlite and configured it to SIPGATE as the default proxy(NOT voipbuster)
3. Do you have firewall software running
4. Are you using Windowws XP (if not what operating system)
5 When you ring the Sipgate number the line is dead and your PC doesn't recognise an incoming call
6 Have you set up Sipgate voicemail (available from web portal)

Hi there
Sip gate number = Yes
xlite installed = yes
xlite config = probably not
XP firewall = sygate
when I ring PC I get an engaged kinda sound
Sipgate voicemail = no
I have noticed, that this happens, Open Xlite, discovers firewall, discovers open IP, login failed, contact net admin.
Bring back carrier pigeons :rotfl:
Thanks again0 -
Mr Skint
I have been getting the failed login (not sure if this is failing to login to sipgate or voipbuster, I suspect sipgate as it is my default proxy). Could be Sipgate has a problem, not enough capacity now MSE'rs have taken on the free numbers.
It appears that it doesn't matter if it fails to login (just rang to my number after a failed login and xlite answered just fine).
I think you should set up Sipgate voicemail and close the xlite software. Then dial your number to check voicemail is working. Software needs to be closed to ensure voicemail activates. This will confirm your sipgate number is working ok, other than xlite will not answer the call.
You state xlite probably not configured, easy enough, use https://secure.sipgate.co.uk/user/c...show_conf=xlite test it by dialling 10000
As you have sygate firewall, either disable (briefly to test xlite) or configure the required ports as indicated on configuration web page (link above).

Remove xlite software yes, remove voipbuster software no.
With voipbuster software running no one will ring you unless you give them your voipbuster number. This is purely a voip number not a convential number as provided by sipgate.
