Tried that, i only showed that on the pic to show you it was logging in ok on others

1. You have obtained a free Sipgate telephone number
2. You have installed xlite and configured it to SIPGATE as the default proxy(NOT voipbuster)
3. Do you have firewall software running
4. Are you using Windowws XP (if not what operating system)
5 When you ring the Sipgate number the line is dead and your PC doesn't recognise an incoming call
6 Have you set up Sipgate voicemail (available from web portal)
1 - 4 yes, 5 and 6 no: it rings fine and the quality is good and i havent bothered to set up voicemail although i dont think thats really relevant to my question

I dont really know what could be causing this, i have also tried another account username / pass0 -

At work my voip performs very badly as the network is protected by commercial firewall systems etc.
At home I just have XP's in bulit firewall running and all is fine. When you run the voip software XP asks if you want to unblock the required ports.
I suspect your problem is firewall related as from your earlier posts you appear to have correctly configured the software. I believe you were using an incorrect dialling format but I assume you are now #010044114xxxxxxxxx (#01 assumes voipbuster is proxy number 1).
Your earlier posts indicate you have some understanding of firewall systems. What operating system and firewall software are you using?
Could one of the forum administrators move the thread to the Tech board as most of the cuurent posts relate to technical issues?
We might all have more success with configuring xlite if the thread is moved.

With xlite or voipbuster (not sipgate account) how do you call (via voip) other voipbuster members?
I have tried:
username
username@sip.voipbuster.com
I am calling from the voipbuster account.
I don't remember being given a number (123456) when I registered and can't see any numbers on my voipbuster account web page.
I assume voipbuster members can contact each other via voip.

I'm not sure if there is a "technical support" board as such. We've been arguing for the creation of a child VoIP board on the home and mobile phones section for some time now and your support would be much appreciated.
I believe what MSE is forgetting is the interest a VoIP board would generate among users. This thread has demonstrated that although there had already been several lengthy discussions about the services offered in this thread, alot of users are still completely unaware of the possibilities and savings to be had with VoIP. One of the main functions of a seperate VoIP board is that it would create higher awareness through the curiousity of users.
It also demonstrates that there is a considerable technical support need, far outstretching the technical support need required for mobile and homephones, so this should mean the creation of the VoIP child board is even more justified than before.
Stibilo I have rung my mobile from VoIP before and a number has been displayed on the caller ID. No number is displayed when I call via my sipura adapter so there are probably some settings I need to tweak to get this to work that come pre configured with x-lite.
Basically it may be a simple way for you to work out what your VoIPbuster sip number is.0 -
When VoIP Buster first started around 6 months ago, they did give out 0845 numbers so you could receive calls on your VoIP Buster account, I have one of these 0845 numbers and incoming calls do work, as does the outgoing CLI of my 0845 number, VoIP Buster ran out of their current set of numbers a few months back, so at the moment aren't issuing any UK numbers, not sure about numbers from any other country, as they were also issuing numbers from certain other countries too. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Ignoring real numbers (0845, 0114, 0151 etc) can voipbuster members call other voipbuster members? Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -

How do we go about asking for a voip board (anyone)?
Tried caller ID from voipbuster to mobile and it just comes up private. Might be because they have stopped issuing phone numbers.
I will check the voip user forums.

Well actually the sipgate works fine so i can't see how it could be a firewall issue. I did have ZoneAlarm, but now i just use the Windows built in firewall. I turned it off and tried again, same problem.
It seems weird, because if i had a problem connecting then it would say connection failed, but it is connection, just it doesn't login because it is claiming the details are incorrect.0 -
Yay, for some reason it now works ??

Changed from the tester settings to the actual paid username and it fails again :S
Changed back, worked
Im quite sure now, its because my username is too long i think0
