  • Thanks for that downhillfast.

The trading is not a problem as we have always paid cash on delivery anyway for stock, so will not be sending any small suppliers into rage by owing them money! In fact more often than not recently we have been paying for stock out of our personal cash to keep the beer flowing.

Its the big guys ie Punch and utilities that will end up losing out rather than the little guys. We have a good relationship with local suppliers and several know the situation and are only too pleased to see that we have taken our destiny into our own hands and got fully sorted with where we are going etc.

Will bear in mind that you are there if I feel like a rant!!

well, the caravan has been sited and there is virtually nothing left upstairs. We just need a busy trading weekend now to give us some cash, and I have to sit down and do all the paperwork.

Some last minute running round tomorrow taking boxes to various relatives as the container is now full to bursting! Only a few days to go now.

Well, the day is upon us. Hubby should be in the court building by now. We had a massive farewell bash last night and at about midnight we auctioned off all the part bottles of spirits. Great fun!!!

Lots of tears last night, lots of hugs but lots of laughs as well. Told the area manager yesterday afternoon and he was lovely about it, not that he could do anything.

Lots of clearing up today, but we'll be up the coast by this evening and enjoying this gorgeous weather whilst everyone else is slaving away.

Just gotta sit and wait for hubbys phone call now, then we can start our debt free life!!

Yesterday was a very emotional day for us, as well as a very busy day. Not only was hubby going BR, we also had to empty the pub and start to blitz clean through it...and it was a HUGE place, plus get to the coast, sort out up here etc etc. Hubby said Br bit went very well, made the clerk laugh when he asked if he could pay by cheque!!

With moving evrything we have not had time to come on until now as\we also had to head back to Notts today to clear last trailer full of stuff hich we haven't even attempted to unpack, its just sat outside caravn as the awning is also full of boxes and cases.

Tomorrow we are havinbg a full day of making our now very humble abode feel like home and unpacking/sorting as some stuff has to go back to Notts and in container but we didnt have chance to sort it just all got lobbed in.

Still dont think we've done bad considering we went Br, lost our business and lost our home all on the same day.

OR office phoned today and we went through some stuff but I had to speak to him cos hubby was driving, few points of contention and it sounds like a face to face interview but thats better for us I think.

Will post tomorrow on what contention was cos quite important but too tired now, been a long few days and only having 10 mins on computer to let everyone here and family know we're okay after no contact for a couple of days.

I've just read through your thread and want to wish you good luck with the future.

It sounds like you've had a rough deal with the pub but just by the tone of your posts and their content, I'm convinced that you and your OH have got what it takes to turn all of this around.

was going to post an update today but another busy day as we have been dealing with area manager and police today as the pub has been broken into and the machines trashed.

think one of us must have stepped on a vicar in a previous life.

We were just starting to chill out after sorting all the boxes and clothes out in the awning and then had to spend several hours dealing with the break in by phone...not good for our phone balance when we're trying to be frugal.

Area manager being an !!!!. He was there about an hour before the break in happened and said when we let him know that its our problem as the property is not his yet cos he hasnt had the paperwork. Gave him the f...ing Br number on weds, he just never showed up weds...or thurs when he wouldnt answer his phone for the blinking keys. cant say he didnt have enough chances. not our fault he ignores his phone.

So all in all another !!!!!! day.

will post details of yesterdays conversation with OR tomorrow when hopefully my head will be back in it.

Plus the trip box on the caravan has gone tits up, we think the wires have melted, so we have lights off the battery but no sockets, so no heat, tv etc etc.

On the plus side, we now have the awning sorted and it looks like a real home from home, the dogs have been behaving ace even despite the upset, I've managed to grab a REALLY long hot shower and the weather is gorgeous and is forecast to continue all weekend. hip hip hooray.
