ive no problem wishing them well december, but i remember how it hit me when a private landlord kicked us out so he could sell the house and the council said (basically) "tough".

i can still hear the obnoxious little swine at the council and see her sneering face....

it was a few years ago now, but just after new guidelines came in allowing councils to threaten bed and breakfast or "hostels" as the only available housing.

and "we may have to split the family up between hostels"......

We had similar hassles when we were repossessed, a real jobs worth of a housing officer telling us we would have to live in B&B and as there were none available which could fit the 3 of us (at that time) in, then we would be split up.

We had to fight tooth and nail to get the points we were entitled to, getting doctors etc involved but this woman was of the idea that it was not her problem but ours.

Was a joy seeing her face when the judge at our possession hearing had a right go at her and told her to do her job!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • Hi all, a busy weekend on my thread in my absence I see.

Thanks for the advice max. We did not really have time to go to LA BEFORE we went BR as from when we had made the decision to actually going Br was only a matter of weeks.

We would have been even less of a priority before losing the accommodation than we are now, plus we had all of the packing up and paperwork to do, as well as hubby having a full time job, running the business to the best of ability until BR day and two children still to look after. And still finding time to sleep.

What I will say is that we will see what ponits we have been allocated and will see what transpires over the next week or two.

I hope that my thread will help someone along the way somewhere, and all well and good if it does. It is also meant to be an outlet for me as well as being a place I can pick all of your brains!!!!

I hope in a few weeks/months I will be bale to look back from beginning to end and see how far we have come on our journey.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!!!!
