Selling my house - was expecting an offer today??

Oh well, our EA did it again. We asked when will it updated on Rightmove and they said - Friday after 7pm. Ok, there is still the old house price on rightmove and on their website, but when on rightmove you clock for full brochure it shows the new price!!!!! So, if someone is looking at our house they will be thoroughly confused as the house price on rightmove AND EA's website is X ad on the brochure is Y!!!!
Get onto them to get it sorted asap. It sounds like they have a manual system for updating RM and have done half a job.0 -
Spooky!!!! As soon as I posted here, I thought I'll just refresh the EA's website and the new price was displayed!!!!
We are going to drive by the EA's window in next village and then in the town and make sure they put it in the window before we confront them. (That is, unless rightmove price will be updated before we leave as well)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
It depends how the RM site is updated from the agents site. If its a datafeed it will be updated onece a day at a set time (8pm I think). It does sound like its done manually though as the full brochure was showing the new price.0

Your house is just what we're looking for and we are first time buyers with a mortgage in place... unfortunately we're in Essex.
Damn! We should really move to Oswestry or anywhere cheaper than round here!0 -
Hi Oswestry any viewings yet??
I've just been looking on rightmove, seen a couple that are quite nice, checked on neighbours house, they've only gone & reduced it again!! It's £149,995 now, so now they've dropped £10,000 & that's without anyone putting an offer in, how much more will they drop?!
I bet your neighbours are thinking about the drop in your price too!!
No way am i putting mine on the market for that price, I possibly may have dropped to that, but people are bound to put an offer in, the houses I'm looking at are around £190,000 obviously I'd be expecting them to drop thier price a bit too, but don't think they'd drop £10,000 ?
All I'd be gaining is a bigger garden & would be semi detatched, they all need a lot of work doing to them, heating etc, a lot of money, for not much more (same amount of bedrooms, some of the bedrooms smaller ) .
Houses are so expensive around here. ( except ours it seems! )
Seeing my mortgage advisor end of May as my low rate runs out September, was hoping to start the ball rolling then, will have to see how things are going............bit fed up:o but not going to stretch myself do not want to go back into debtComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Hi Kizzy,
Thats crazy that your neigbours have dropped by 10k considering your area is pretty pricey. The houses you are looking at don't seem worth the extra 40k for a bigger garden and just to be a semi especially if they need work. You should move to Oswestry you could get a 4 bed detached for 200k!!
I think things will have started to pick up by end of May so fingers crossed for you.
We have got a viewing tommorrow (yipppeee) will post how it goes after.
Have a good evening everyone.:j0 -
Good luck with the viewing. Bet your other half is on bended knees praying!0

Quite.
No-one with any sense is buying because they know that the £100k house they buy now is gonna be worth £2.50 in 12 months time.

don't be so silly, people do have to move sometimes you know and they will still need to buy houses. And people's views differ, round here most people (and I've asked ALOT of people now) are thinking along the lines of...
"Yes the property boom is over, it was pretty much fueled by property programs and bloody makeovers anyway, house prices round here rose but not astronomically - they just caugh up a bit with other areas. You can still buy a house around here on one 'average' salary (18k) and get a mortgage with a 10% deposit. Houses will be about 5k cheaper and thats going to hit the 'done up to death' type of houses the most. I'm still buying cos I still want to move out from my moms; i dont' care if glood and doom merchants say the house will be worth tuppance next year, I'm planning on staying for 5-10 years if not longer. Its the ***** southerners thinking everything revolves around london house prices"
these are all things I've heard in my local newsagents during a nice long chat between several local residents!
Generally houses are taking longer to shift because of the climate (ie how people feel about things) but the average sale price here and in the area we want to move to is 9% under the asking price just like it was a year ago, 2 years ago and 5 years ago!DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft
