    Hi
Do you have a favourite recipe for barbecue sauce in the slow cooker or the oven?

Ive made coca cola chicken which turns out tasting like BBQ sauce if thats any good?

    recipe here cola chicken

Im guessing if you left out the chicken and cooked it in the slowcooker on low it would make bbq sauce

  • This link has an awesome barbeque sauce recipe - if you find you're left with a runny sauce, transfer sauce into a saucepan and reduce by boiling for a few minutes to thicken.

I'll be making this every week!

Delia all the way for me, before her cheating days obviously

    5 tbspns soy sauce
5 tbspns cider or apple juice
    clove of garlic crushed
    1 tbspn tomato puree
    1 tbspn soft brown sugar
    1 tspn mustard powder
Mix all ingredients together and coat chicken/porketc about halfway through cooking!

    Mmmmmm
  • This recipe is very similar to our chinese, I actually prefer it!

Bit of a cheat though, no fresh ingredients the way I make it :P

    1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
    1 tbsp Tomato Puree
    2 tbsp Clear Honey
2 Garlic cloves - very finely chopped or use equivalent amount of garlic puree or garlic granules for a smoother sauce.
1 tsp? Ginger or 1cm piece grated. Again I prefer to use ginger from spice rack as it makes it smoother.
    1 tsp English Mustard

Mix it all together. Adjust to your own taste!

Oh - and orange juice (freshly squeezed, not out of a carton) is in the original recipe I quoted but I didn't have any when I made it and it was really nice without so I don't bother including it now.
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

    I use

    black treacle
    tomato puree
    soy sauce
    ginger (either fresh or ground)
    mustard powder
    lime juice

Have no idea about the quantites though - I just stick them in a bowl, put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds or so, mis well, then pur over ribs. Allow to marinade for a while.

I start ribs off in the oven, as this cooks them more evenly and keeps them tender. Baste with sauce occasionally and finish off on the BBQ, but don't allow them to burn.

Costco have their own BBQ ribs in the frozen section. The sauce is really sticky!
They are £10 for 2 racks and are about 2 ft long, 1.8 KG I think.

They have Cattlemans BBQ sauce which is only £1.99

Might be able to use as a marinade if the instructions allow.
