    Hi HH

Glad the baby seems to be turning the corner and has put on weight. When I took our son for his 3 year check-up I was told he had a heart murmour (type he would grow out of.) Had to take him annually to GP for a check and GP had diffcuculty finding it. I just say to him (GS) that if he ever has surgery he must mention it just in case! Part of his medical history. He was 4 weeks prem (unlike your DG) and was only 4lb 10 ozs!

(no Martyn today  I hope he hasn't tied himself up in string. )

If only that were the extent of it......

I'm physically trembling at posting this becuase I no longer know what's happening to me. I finally made it to the doctor's this morning and I've been diagnosed as suffering from depression. He prescribed some sleeping tablets and some anti-depressants for me and I'm now terrified of what will happen to me.

If I'm not around much, it's because I don't know what to say. All I can think of is that I'm sorry.

There is nothing to be sorry about.

Once you start to get some sleep then that should help and the other tablets should also help.

There are some very nice people on the depression thread if you want to have a look and maybe ask advice.

Just get yourself feeling better. You have had a sudden life changng event happen out of the blue and it would be strange if you were not affected by it.

    Big hug

It is in the marriage, kids forum - and entitled "health".

I'll check how many forums up from here and get back.

If you go to the main forum - it is six up from old style and under "health and beauty" which is a subforum of "marriage and relationships" forum.

If you like I will nip in there and say I have suggested you have a look?

Or if you would rather just have a look before thinking of posting then I will not do anything that might pressure you.

I know you are going through a very difficult time but we are here for you.

My DD finally acknowlged she has post natal depression last month (DGS3 8 months old) and she is now on anti depressants. They have actually worked wonders and she freely admits that she is not screaming like a banshee at the two older boys. I am sure DSIL feels better too. She did not want to admit she had a problem but she did, which was affecting the whole household (and us because of worry!) At last she has told her inlaws that she has had a problem as we had to shoulder it all ourselves.

There is help out there and also there is help here as we can all give support. So long as your GP keeps you monitored regarding the tabs, you should be OK.

    Please take care.
