Most opticians will do a free trial so you can see how you get on. I go to an independent optician for my lenses rather than a chain and they are always really helpful and friendly.

Give it a go - if they don't suit you then at least you've tried.

One thing though make sure you keep your lenses and case well away from tap water - if you need to rinse them use the sterile stuff you can get from the opticians or the chemist - you only get one pair of eyes.

I had my free trial with vision express but it wasn't like a months worth of contacts... They gave me 3 pairs... I've ordered 30 pairs off them now but think in future I will get them off the internet....

OH has promised me we will save for laser eye surgery after the wedding!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

I'd be really careful about ordering them off the internet and remember you should get the health of your eyes checked every 6 months to make sure they aren't scratched.

I have a monthly DD for my lenses and get 2 free checks a year which would cost me around £100. Check what your optician would charge you before going down this route as it might not work out cheaper. And without going on you only get one pair of eyes - my ex used to get his lenses online and now can't wear them as his eyes are damaged but don't think it's directly down to where he got them from as his sister has the same eye problem and can't wear lenses now either.

well tomorrow is the deadline to respond to the wedding invitations, and there's two couples outstanding and the Italian lot who think they can get away will telling us 2 weeks before the wedding. How soon is too soon before you start chasing people? and when can i say...... the invite is no longer open to the Italian lot? (2 weeks isnt' enough time for either me or the caterer)

Tomorrow is our deadline... We've had 4 RSVPs!

There is 1 aunt coming to the breakfast who hasn't decided, the rest (only 34 all together) are pretty much assumed as being there.... And I suppose the evening folk don't matter too much, we invited 40 more people than we are catering for... (OH is paranoid nobody will come so just invited anyone he's ever shared a conversation with!) It is still irritating that people can't be bothered to write on a little card... Or even send an email!

We had a look at our reception budget last night... Originally we decided to book a basic buffet package and add a couple of extras from the bespoke list to pad it out a bit... Upon reflection it turned out we were paying £360 extra so that people who can't be bothered to tell us if they are coming or not can eat vegetable samosas and chicken skewers... We decided we would rather get the basic buffet and book a week in York as a little honeymoon... So that's what I did today!

    Yay, we're going on honeymoon!!

I'm looking forward to being child free... it's only for 5 of the nights... On the last night DD will be joining us! I'm glad really, the longest I've been away from her is 3 nights and it was awful... But I was on my own too... (Work conference) so I'm hoping being with OH will be a bit more of a distraction than work!

For those of us getting married on September 20th it is only 39 days!!!

We met with our venue yesterday to finalise most of the arrangements and allocate rooms to people (it's in a house, and our nearest and dearest are spending the night with us). I am sure there are lots of people I am meant to be phoning up and so on! OH has had (and survived) his stag do, my hen is the first week of Sep (lovely sis organising, so not sure exactly what is happening), and there is something happening every weekend before the wedding now except THE weekend before! All nice things, though.

My mum was asking if I wanted to go out for a meal the night before, just with the family, which is what we did for my sis. Am torn and tempted as the place she mentioned is one of my favourite local places, but I do not want to over-eat the night before!

Hi all the sept brides, not long to go now, how is everyone feeling, I am flipping from stressed to excited to panic all the time.

Am getting alittle worried on some things, still no DJ booked, hoping to sort that this week. Bought the rings on Sat though, really please with them and the shop rung today to say my one is in but am going to wait til h2b is back to before we collect.

I am going for my dress fitting tomorrow, had really hoped to lose some weight but it has just not happened, I have 5 weeks so still hoping for a few pound which will just make me feel better, really excited about the fitting though.

I agree with you beckstrous I don't think I would want to go for a big meal the night before it would definatly make me feel bloated the next day, my wedding is not til 3pm I am going to be worried about eating before it anyway.
