Krystaltips-I am also impressed with your order of servie, I still haven't done mine and the wedding is 2 weeks on Saturday!!

Skipsmum, I don't want to worry you but my friend had a limited amount of seats for her civil ceremony and she asked if it would be ok if people stood at the back and they said absolutely not as they were only licenced for 100 so no extra people could be there or they said they could lose their licence?!

Not sure if it will be the same for your place or not but maybe worth checking to save any hassle on the day. Hopefully it won't make any difference.

My dress also fits but i'm hoping to slim down a little bit and make a dent in the bingo wings but no luck so far!:rotfl:

Card arrived for the order of services but worried it won't go through the printer now, it's quite thick... And I don't have enough to do print runs either! Just want to get going on them now but need to confirm some info with other people first...

Need to think about my seating plan too... Go it all mapped out on the computer but OH wants a big fancy one... It's ok for him, he doesn't have to make it lol. At least I know everyone is coming to the meal, we didn't invite that many in the first place... Only had 4 confirmations for the evening... It's a little irritating to say the least!

Completely paid off the venue this week which after the whole MIL incident is quite a relief! Just the chocolate fountain and church to pay for... And the salon... Counting down now... Less than 6 weeks for me!!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

  • Hi all

Sent the cheque in the post today to pay the final amount for our marquee for the daytime reception.

Went to the Working Mens Club last night to see where i want things to go i.e. chocolate fountain and food then how big I want the dance floor area to be etc. Was quite exciting as it's only 3 weeks on Saturday until i'll be there having the day of my dreams.

Took the bridesmaid dresses round to OH parents last night also as that is where I am staying the night before with my Chief BM and getting ready there on the day, hung the dresses up next to mine and they look lovely together.

My Chief BM came round on Monday to practise my hair and make-up which went really well so thats all sorted.

Have emailed the caterers to see when they want the final payment and now just need to get last little bits like table cloths - any ideas where I can get them cheapish? I want 5ft round ones and 6ft rectangle ones.

Struggling to lose extra few lbs so have ordered a body wrap kit to use if needed :rotfl:
    Weight loss so far 1st 12 1/2 lbs:j
£2008 for 2008 member 784: July Wins: £10 VV voucher, £7.50 VV voucher, £50 figleaves voucher

Krystaltips i love your order of service, it's very innovative i just went for common all garden design which was good really as i had to reprint everything as it wasn't perfect.
Last night i sat and wrapped thank you scrolls in ribbon for the couples/ families which will be at the day do.
It turns out that we have 7 Italians coming - i don't know their names, how old the children are or what they want to eat - MIL said to just feed them pasta so obviously the concept of a menu has passed her by. OH has had to return to london for a few days as his dad had a heart attack a couple of days after he moved here, so OH has been tasked with many jobs, including begging his mum to set off in plenty of time in the morning of the wedding to make sure they are there on time, remind her she's one of our witnesses, that she and FIL will be in the welcome line therefore she WON'T be making a speech.
I went to a wedding reception on monday evening and the bride was wearing the first dress i bought - boy am i glad that i changed mine a few months ago, i know i made the best decision to change it and this has just proven it.
As to weight - i'm convinced i've gained about 3 stone since i last tried on my dress, i'm terrified of having to try it on again, i wish i had the tendancy to lose weight through stress but i only end up gaining it.
Only just 5 1/2$ weeks for us now Kristaltips and i'm starting to get really excited, just need to start spending out loads of money but no one seems to want it!

Thanks Lemon Tree, I'm worried there will be a mistake and all the orders will have to be re-done so waiting till I've double checked every last word on it before I start! MOH offered to help cut them out the other day which is cool, she said she's feeling guilty cos she hasn't done much... But up till now there's not been a fat lot for her to do...

I'm a stress gainer, I know what you mean when you say you're scared to try the dress on!!! I have a full body wrap 2 days before but I'm still going to buy a pair of suck you in pants!

    Hello :hello:

This is my first post on the Wedding board!

I'm getting married on the 20th Sept - so only a few weeks to go!!

I've hardly had any RSVP's back, so i need to start chasing people! And i've still got to make the Order of Services!

The only 'disaster' so far is that my barn (for the reception) has been hired out the night before, and wont be available for me until 11am on my wedding day! I get married at 2pm, and we are an hours drive away from the barn

Apart from that....so far, so good! I hope!!

Hi bendybops, welcome to the september forum, you are getting married a few days after me, I cant wait now, I have butterflies thinking about it:j .

Well if anyone has been reading the veil thread I have been having abit a nightmare with that but have now ordered another one and hope this is going to be better, the first one I ordered was from ebay but I would say that it is now Ivory but cream, the satin edge on it is really yellowy, so hope the new one is better. I am going for another try on of my dress tomorrow, so I am hoping the new one arrives before I leave.

I have got my hen night this week, I am really looking forward to that, should be a great night:T :T :T .

I also have all my bits now to make up the childrens gift bags for the tables, got some nice little bits and pieces to keep them busy while we have the reception, they did,nt cost that much either to put together. Still have'nt sorted out my favours though, seem like I have got all the major stuff sorted now but I still have a big list of little niggly bits and pieces to do, is everyone else like that or it is just me.
Can't believe some of you will be a Mrs by the end of next week, you all must be so excited, cant wait to see all you pics xxx:j :D

I have nothing by way of a hen night sorted yet!
Have done 41 of 50 order of services, didn't take too long really... Got to wait for more card before I can do the rest, should be here tomorrow I hope! (was glad the card went through the printer, was really worried about it!) Got to do the seating plan... And something for the church... Haven't decided what yet though!

Got one more present to get for MOH but I have an idea what... Just got to get away from her next week when we go shopping together again...

Good luck with the veil Littlel, I have mine but I want to sew some beads on it... Thats what I'm going shopping with MOH for next week... (that and DD school shoes!)

I can't beleive it's now less than a month to go. We had our stag and hen nights last night - all very MSE and i've printed another 20 Orders of Service (without posh covers). My mum announced mid week that we didn't have enough (40) but when pressed didn't know how many more we needed. The only trouble is we had to buy another ream of the card/paper which was a bit of a boooger. I've got the layout sorted for the place cards now, glad i didnt' start them as one person's gone off chicken therefore wants to change, the 6 from italy aren't coming any more and we've now invited another two guests to the whole day who are travelling from Yorkshire. Maybe i should do them the night before lol.
I've had my hair practice now and it looks very posh and smart, it's lovely and i can't ever put my hair up so it makes a lovely change. I also made 6 drawstring bags for the kids as their activity bags, the shame is i got the stuff for the child coming over from Italy and it's now spare, but i do understand why they aren't able to make it.
