Hello September brides, I am getting very excited now too! Only 3 weeks on Saturday for me and I have my dress fitting on Friday too! I have managed to lose a little bit of weight but not sure if it has been removed from the right places-i'll find out on Friday I guess.

I am busy with my order of service, is anyone else getting married in a church and if they are who did your order of service for you? I am hoping to just do it myself but not sure if it will look tacky or not?

I hope you are all enjoying your final few weeks before the big days!

PS I know what you mean about there being something on every weekend, my 30th is the weekend before our wedding and i'm out for 2 meals and copious booze, woops!
  • Hi all

I cannot belive how fast the time has flown, this time next month I will be waking up next to my husband. :j

It still doesn't seem real, me and OH were talking about how quick it has come and he said the same that it hasn't sunk in that in 4 week's we'll be married.

I collected my dress last week, it's lovely. Fits good but just want to lose few more lbs as it's bit tight on my back (lace up back though so could just losen it:rotfl: ) and if not my veil will hide my back cleavage as my mum calls it!!

My bridesmaid have their final fittings on Saturday so can collect their dresses too.

Paid final payment on the chocolate fountain yesterday and still have to pay the caterers - the only thing with payments is all deposits are paid and now all final payments are due at same time

Going to evening venue tonight to have another look and decide how I want the room to look and where I want things to go.

Still stuck on ideas of what to buy for the best men, ushers etc - why are men so hard to buy for - any ideas of what to buy or can you tell me what you have all bought?

Oh and it is our 7 year anniversary today :p , OH just pointed out though it will be our last as this time next year it will nearly be our 1st wedding anniversary so will count that and not the day we met as they're so close.
    Weight loss so far 1st 12 1/2 lbs:j

Yes we celebrated our first anniversary as a couple a few weeks ago (we knew each other for years before we go together and decided to get married within 3 months!) But it is the only time we will celebrate it because it will be the wedding anniversary we will celebrate in future... OH bought me a diamond and topaz necklace to wear for the wedding too, he's such a darling!!

What did we get for the men... Best man (also father of the groom) gets a pocket watch with an engraved box. (my dad's getting the same too)
Usher 1 got cufflinks with beer hand and will y hand in an engraved box
Usher 2 an engraved hip flask.

I have lost no more weight for the wedding... will probably invest in some 'suck you in' underwear in a couple of weeks...

Oh and all final payments are due in a couple of weeks but as we have the money now we're off to the venue to give final numbers and pay this afternoon, the cheque for the cars went off yesterday and I need to call the chocolate fountain fella and change the times (he wants to set up 2 hours before the buffet starts so we're going to try and delay him an hour and get that bought forward an hour so they're on at the same time) then send his cheque off.... Flowers and church will be paid when OH gets paid at the end of the month then that's everything I think!

Haven't slept well the last couple of nights... The only thing I can put it down to is excitement... And last night all I could think of was order of services! Here is a mock up of what I'm doing:
    100_0920.jpg
I've ordered card from eBay and I need to double check the wording and running order with everyone involved but really can't wait to get started... And the sooner the better really because I need to cut about 300 petals to make 50 fans!

oh my god, im getting exited - less than 3 weeks to go, so much to do! Still trying to pay for the cars - where have these people gone?
Expected around 20% of people to say they cant make it, but everyone is coming so I am 20 seats short at the ceremony _they have a max of 100. Looks like people will be sitting on laps!

I wish stress would make me lose weight, I've gained 3lb this week... suddenly worried the dress won't fit!

  • Hello all! Isn't it exciting?!! Two weeks Friday till my big day (5th). Dress fits (but won't hurt if I loose another few pounds), shoes bought (Next £25, proper wedding jobbies), Venue all paid for, hairdresser managed to fit me in a week earlier which is good (was originally booked in for a cut and colour day before). Hen night is Friday week (29th) and the theme is Moulin Rouge with 22 of us going so should be good fun!

Haven't bought gifts for the best man or bridesmaid as we're paying for their hotel rooms for 2 nights (including his family and her 2 friends). My daughter is giving me away (as well as bridesmaid) and our parents aren't involved in the organising (or paying) - which has been a bonus really as we've been able to go ahead and make our own decisions.

Went to see registrar last week which was lovely, we got quite emotional! - I'm doing a reading at the ceremony and she was concerned I'd not be able to do it (thinks I'll cry!). OH has started on his speech.

Made the top tier of my wedding cake last week and will make the last 2 tiers the week before - will cost me around £55 including buying 2 new tins, boxes and cake boards!

Have made the place cards, just the table plan to make once I've confirmed numbers this Friday.

Frustrated by the number of people who are vague about whether they're there - they obviously don't realise once numbers are confirmed you have to pay for them whether they're there or not! OH says if they can't say for definite by this Friday, they're out!

Krystaltips - love your order of service, how clever are you?!

    Not long now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
