    Hello again,

PenPen - the recipe i used (i couldnt find Squiddlys, although it was her recipe last week that made me think of them!!!) was -

    1 cup double cream
1 cup lemonade (not diet, you need the sugar!!)
    3 1/2 cups pf S/R flour

Mix all ingredients together, cut into rounds and bake for about 15 minutes. They came out lovely and light. I used a 150ml tub of cream and then used the same tub to measure the cup of lemonade and the flour.

Aussie - im loving the pics of Tierd mums holidays - she will be after you when she gets back!!!

scuzz - Ohhh, Spain, lovely, will be interesting to hear how you get on!!

    Morning Everyone

((Hugs)) to everyone who needs one.

Havent been around for afew days as I've been so busy with work. I'm off for a week and half now so i can be a proper OS mummy. DD is at nursery this morning and requested to stay for lunch as she normally does on a Wednesday so I'm free until 1pm.

Plan for today is sort out washing and tidy up the house which is a complete mess. I think I'm going to have to make a proper to-do list because otherwise I'll just sit on here all morning.

    Have a good day everyone

Morning all... hope you are all well. bigs hugs for those that need one

I feel dreadful this morning - it might be to do with the two litres of ice-cream and bottle of red wine I ate for dinner last night whilst staring at absently at a 3 inch computer game screen for four hours straight. I can't be left alone for five minutes. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Then I got a text message from OH saying he is at the airport and will see me tommorrow  . I was convinced, absolutely convinced that he wasn't back until Thursday... So I decided in my infinite and red wine induced wisdom that I needed to clean the flat and make cake and do all the housework so it didn't look like a bomb-site. Rushed around like a headless chicken, cleaning everything, threw together cake - finished a 2 am... then another text saying the flight had been delayed and he would leave Calgary at 4.15pm tommorrow - so won't be back until thursday after all... :rotfl: Didn't bother going to sleep as I was far too hyperactive (even after red wine and tranquilisers) so finished my quarterly report (which I might have to check over this morning for alcohol induced errors :rotfl: ). In work by 6.30 am because I had a crazy brainwave which might just work :) ... and I'm just waiting impatiently for some data output at the moment.

Thanks so much for the great threads yesterday, I really needed the laugh. :)

Martyn - hugs for you. I'm sorry yesterday didn't go well for you, hope you have a better day today.
Squiggly & catowen - the lemonade scones sound really cool cheers for the recipe.
r.mac - wow! I wish I could ready-steady-cook like that! I need at least two weeks planning time for most things :)
scuzz - well done! can we visit you in Spain... pleeeaaaseeee :D

have a good day all, cel x

    Morning all :D

Don't post here that often, but thought I would start again as hopefully it'll keep me going over the coming (busy) weeks :)

Hubby has gone fishing with his brother today, so it's one of those rare days where it's just me and the kids without any school runs etc to contend with.

Laundry morning today - third wash in the machine, third load in the tumble dryer, and two airers full already, and I've half-filled the kids wardrobes with the dry stuff (not ironed it - just hung - can't see the point in adding to the enormous ironing pile and it getting even more screwed up, will just iron it as it's needed until we catch up).

This afternoon, we'll head into town - get a little shopping done, pop into the library and the little museum that's next door, then maybe have a ride on the teacups that have been in the Square all week - it's only a little ride, but it is a bit pricey when all four of us go on (youngest too young to go on his own), so it's a real treat for the boys.

Then hopefully when we get back there'll be time to whip up a batch of Weetabix brownie as middle son has a real craving for it (can't live without it if you believed him, lol), then hubby will be home again, in time for tea (with warm brownie for pudding :D ).

So, a relaxed, and yet hopefully productive, day planned for us :)

Hope everyone else has a good one :D

Edit - just to add good wishes, and hugs if required, to all those having rough times :)

Nels...When are we getting the pics of the finished [strike]tiler [/strike]kitchen? :D
Blairweech, After getting our energy bills down last year we're now paying £180 per month. Good luck with yours.
Aussie...You may be out.gif but I love you and I'm loving the pics. :D
Mellika...Hope you got some sleep. x
Anniestar. I hope you're ok.
    Pink...Hugs to you. xxx
Smoky... Love to you as always. xxx

Just sitting down for a quick coffee. The sun is shining but other than that it is like groundhog day. Washing is on the line, ironing is backing up and kitchen needs a good clean. Tea will be sausage casserole I think so need to bung that in the SC soon.

OH snaffled some money out of my purse again this morning, but has just come in to tell me he thought it was a £20 he took so he put £20 petrol in the car only to find it was a £5 after all. Cue a very redfaced Mr Junkie dashing home for the rest. :rotfl: Serves him right, the thieving tyke.

    Better go

    Have a good day all

    Haribo x

well i've been busy in the last 1 1/2 hours:A

a tray of lemonade scones is cooling on a rack they look lovely - thanks squiggly for the recipie i'd brought a pot of double cream a couple of days ago when someone mentioned them but wasn't sure if it was the right sort.
    i've clean the microwave out
swept the stairs and hoovered the downstairs hall
and even washed the wall along the side of the stairs where sticky fingers tend to rub. WHY is that when my youngest is 8 today so i cant even blame it on toddlers:rolleyes:
i saved a line of washing i'd left out last night as i noticed the rain starting when i went out to empty the bins and feed the cat.
the throws and cushions are all now nice and straight and the clothes that dont need ironing are all upstairs wiating to get dished out to various rooms.

almost had a panic attack when i realised im now out of sr flour, we only use wholemeal so i wont be able to get any now till the weekend as our local shop doesn't stock it. I've got 1/2 a bag of plain and loads of bread flour so looks like i'll just be baking bread now till the weekend

i think i deserve a coffee and a few rows of knitting now:T

i can hear the boys awake and about but the girls havent even surfaced yet
