You are welcome Polly - isn't it amazing how much pain there is for a scratched cornea. I nearly went demented and my doctor chucked his whole arsenal at me before he got rid of me.

Never tried contacts as both far and near vision is affected.

Yes I love Amsterdam - I lived there for 30 years. Will be visiting many times this year as there are lots of family celebrations going on. We could always coordinate our visits and I could show you the sights. Failing that let me know the things you like and I can point you in the right direction.

MY NEW PASSPORT ARRIVED TODAY - HOORAH - CAN GET SKAT-ING ASAP.

PS - you didnt say where you were going with SAGA. (I'm just nosey)

And I'm back. Still sore and partly lobster coloured. The 2 boys left at home both went out before we got back and won't be home until late, there are quantities of beer and empty beer bottles and chocolate cream eggs and cherryade in the house which I know weren't here when we left, so no idea what they've been up to but they have washed up. Oh, and the coffee table sized amp has been installed in the lounge, I'd hide it if I could lift it!

First load of washing in the machine, DH sent out for pizza, Doctor Who and Jonathan Creek on the hard drive, hopefully. And I'm on my 3rd decent cup of tea ...

Scariest thing is coming home to find a polling card for DS3 - my babies are all adults! :rotfl:

Next skiing trip is the end of April / beginning of May, going up to London for a work related Awards Ceremony on the Thursday, planning to stay with the inlaws and then fly off from London City Airport on Friday for a long weekend. It will, of course, be heaving because of the bank holiday. Where to? Still to be decided ...

Excellent news. DH's EHIC card arrived while we were away, he's put it with his passport, and I hope he'll stick a post-it note to remind him when it expires! I've done that in the cover for my passport.

I also realised he has a medical condition I failed to declare, which is one which might possibly need treatment while we're away, so I guess I'd better ring them and confess.

We're going to Turkey. We had fancied the Southern Turkey Archer's tour, but this works out cheaper; all inclusive, with 4 outings.

The spiel at the front of the SAGA brochure appears to be true.

Glad your passport has arrived safely.

SS, your post brought back memories of the time we arrived home early to find a plate of fish heads in the middle of the living room floor!

I forgot to mention the bottle brush left by the kettle. I struggled to recognise it, because I know I've never bought a black (and I do mean BLACK!) bottle brush.

Enquiries along the lines of "Do you know what happened to the bottle brush?" led to the suggestion that it probably involved oil, so obviously we know it's DS3 to blame. I asked why he left it by the kettle, when it was obviously never going to be used for a bottle again, and he said he thought it might be useful in the future. So PUT IT IN THE GARAGE WITH YOUR BIKE! If he'd done that, I'd probably not have missed the bottle brush, I have others!

Just back from Kent - your neck of the woods, MW.

Had a run down to Dungeness - very interesting to see those funny little beach hut cottages. By god, it was cold, though! That wind!

Just spent a small fortune in Boots on a replacement electric toothbrush and an anti-snoring device that fits in the mouth. The toothbrush was half price and I used my advantage card with double points, also used up a gift card I've had for ages. Always on the look out for bargains, even if I am ski-ing.
    Wish I was travelling though.
