Just booked our first ever Saga holiday!
What does this say about us? It seems good value though, with 4 included excursions, all inclusive.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
 Hi Polly - rubarb...I just wrote you a long reply and then lost it..bah.
I went on a Saga trip to Tenerife a year ago and it was great. They look after you from the minute you arrive at the airport check in and you don't see your luggage again till it arrives in your room. Food was fantastic, Reps were brilliant and you get to meet great people. I had a ball. The Saga lounge in our hotel had a great selection of books donated by previous guests. The Saga Lounge is a great place to read all the English daily papers, free tea and coffee and meet friends - also has a free bar of course.
Where are you going? Report back for all our info.:cool:member # 12 of Skaters Club

Yes Donny - Saga will be my first choice next time. In the meantime I am off to Amsterdam at the end of the month for some quality time with the family and friends. With all my mates from Amsterdam now being retired we have some great all-day girlie lunches, evening card games and a lot of catch up nattering. Then of course all my favourite food, I adore the raw dutch herring, my brother in law puts a plate of them in front of me within half an hour of landing in his house. Roll on.
This is the first day I can see properly again. Sunday morning I woke with a rotten pain in my eye, long story cut short, by midday I was in the local A&E department at the hospital - bottom line. Recurrent erosion syndrome. 3 years ago I scratched my cornea, which they treated, a year ago the same pain, another name, this time I had a savvy doctor who said that the original scratched cornea will have left a scar and I must have 'rubbed' the scar off!!! He said women in their 70's get dry eyes - I nearly choked him - I'm 69 - he laughed and apologised. Anyway I have anti-biotic cream and in future will have to use creams to stop the eyes drying out. Boy was Sunday a painful day. Left the hospital with my lovely neighbour who took me, with a patch over my eye. So much for Easter Sunday and a visit to my Mum.:cool:member # 12 of Skaters Club

Another thing Polly - at the farewell dinner they give a prize for the person who comes up with the best SAGA translation. You have one, Sex and Games Always - take it with you.:rotfl:member # 12 of Skaters Club

I don't qualify sadly - no kids, so I can't ski, and I'll be heading off to uni in September, so not much skating either! But thanks for the invite.:o

Well, if you're planning to enjoy Uni, surely you'll be SKATE-ing there? I'd say that counts ...
Holiday ends tomorrow. I've burned myself, first time in years, very cross with myself although it's all DH's fault really for insisting on wandering along the beach. He's back up on the sundeck. I'm lobstered enough as it is!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks for those, MW.
Glad to hear your eye is ok now! Very painful and worrying.
I scratched my cornea twice in my brief attempts at contact lenses! Piggy little eyes and long nails!
The consultant asked why I was wearing them and I had to admit it was for vanity. Back to the specs.
Enjoy Amsterdam - we want to try to go there this year in good weather. Before retiring we did city breaks in October, but it was always cold.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
