Hi, everyone! Looks like we've all waken up after hibernating - expect for 7DW, who doesn't need to!

We've just come back from London; a trip with our local U3A. It was great. We went to see "Waiting for Godot", which goes into my top 5 of performances ever.

The main event of the trip was a tour of The Houses of Parliament. That too was wonderful. What a building!

Did you like 'Waiting for Godot?' I saw it years ago when we were in our 30s (a University production) and couldn't make head nor tail of it, just two fellas hanging around waiting for something to happen. Beyond me (unless that is supposed to be the point of it?).

I'd enjoy the tour of the Houses of Parliament though, sounds great!

Yep, they are two guys waiting for someone - Godot (or God) or to die?
The production has has a bit of stick for being too funny, but for me it brought the poignancy of life.

Ah. It had Ian Mckellern in it. Nuff said, he is a great actor.

The production I saw had drama students in it. :)

So yours was probably slightly better.....

Hi! I am currently half way through this current ski-ing. We spent a week in Barcelona and the Costa Brava, flew back to Luton and then out to Tel Aviv. We spent a incredible Palm Sunday in Jerusalem. Flying back to England for a few nights, then out again on Sunday To New York (3 nights), Las Vegas (4 nights), a cruise down the west coast of Mexico (7 nights), Los Angeles (1 night) a night at home and then back to Cyprus for 9 weeks. Don't think there is going to be much of my inheritance left!

    Spending Kids' Inheritance

Spending Kash And Thoroughly Enjoying Results (for those who do not have children)

It's about using your money to enjoy yourself, not just hoarding it up for the next generation and having no life yourself. It doesn't have to be about travelling and holidays, someone has recently mentioned buying a new dishwasher.....

....which I did last year for my UK house. I'd never had one before. The Bliss.

Or it could even be helping a young family member with a house deposit for example. It doesn't mean you can't spend money on the next generation. Providing it is what YOU want to do with your money and that it does not diminish YOUR quality of life.

    Hope this helps.

I've just skated some cash on a new mobile phone that I will be able to use with my hearing aids, allegedly ! I'll find out when it arrives. It's very irritating having to cough up £150 because I'm deaf, when mobeys for non-deafies are a tenner in Asda, but I wold be far more irritated if I couldn't afford it.

7DW - I'm loving my new dishwasher :blushing:
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I bought ours mainly because when we visit our UK home, we have to share it with our son, his girlfriend and the lodger. It only has a small kitchen (and one bathroom:eek:) and no-body except me and my husband ever seemed to do any washing up, there was never any space in the kitchen, and I got sick and tired of nagging them all. The dishwasher was a special offer end of line £99 at Curry's so we snapped it up and plumbed it in the workshop extension using the existing washing machine point. We bought it mainly for our benefit, not theirs, :)!

    Oh the bliss!:j

(And even the kids don't object to loading it up and starting it. Unloading and putting away is a different matter, however!)

In my Spanish house I would have to have completely new plumbing to have one as the washing machine is under the stairs and there is no room there for a dishwasher, but there is usually only the two of us there so it is not a problem.

Good luck with your mobile phone, let us know how you get on with it.
