Not that I'd want to give up just yet, although at the end of a LOOOOOONG day at the end of a LOOOOOOONG week at the end of a LOOOOOOONG month it's quite tempting ...
Still, off at silly o'clock tomorrow so I'd better go and pack!

There's a thought, have you got TIME to go back to work? :rotfl:

It is only temporary! Don't know for how long, but I would not want a permanent job, that WOULD cramp my style! Also the £14k salary (pro rata) sounds good after years of both of us living on less than £10k.
I doo hope I get it!
Get my State Pension too, in January. (sings) 'I'm in the money! I'm in the money!'(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Back from a lovely holiday, then one day in which to get everything sorted and then a new floor for the hall and kitchen. Top of the range karndean done by 2 lovely professionals who are on their third day. Meantime we have been pretty well consigned to upstairs so I have done a good amount of internet shopping.
Top of the range upright stainless steel freezer, after all it will be on a smart new floor and will be seen from the front door. Some new clothes for future hols, birkis in a sale, very good quality slippers for dh and for me. A shop in lakeland ltd where I saw the roomba and all the 5* reports. Well blow me, I ordered one from the makers and this one won`t topple off the stairs
I`m just psyching myself up now to do a massive clean through the house soon as there was a lot of dust
We are loving life and very happily skiing!!
ps: top of the range almost everything these days as per the unofficial skiing manual0 -
Good for you, Kittie!
We've just come back from a lovely holiday on the Pink Granite Coast, Brittany. It cost us more than expected because the exchange rate is so dire at present. No regrets though - DH fell in love with it, it's a magical place, the colours he says make it a photographer's dream, and all the picturesque little towns. We found the people to be very friendly and they do like it if you make an effort to speak their language. We loved the way the French/Bretons actually acknowledge each other when coming into breakfast each morning (Bonjour, messieurs/dames) rather than ignoring everyone which is our national habit. You can even get by with a few simple phrases 'On peut manger ici?' (we can eat here?) And the local specialities of crepes and galettes are to die for. I have a lovely memory of DH digging his way through a big pot of moules mariniere and thoroughly enjoying himself.
I agree with you about top of the range. We had an outside cabin on the way there, seats in the Club class lounge on the way back. Why not?
Monday morning 8 am sharp, a local company is coming to re-do our front drive, £1200, money well spent, not only for looks but for safety. Part of the present concrete has sunk due to an inadequate base, and I nearly sprained my ankle getting out of the car in the dark last Friday evening.
OTOH I cannot seem to stop myself saving, and having transferred my cash ISAs into a S & S ISA I am delighted that they are growing so well.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Can't get out of the front door - local paving company doing front drive, have lifted and re-set the red paving slabs by the front door, looks great. Will be much better - weeds can't get in between. A lot of noise outside, cement mixers etc, can't think straight! Can't go anywhere anyway - car went for MOT yesterday morning and it turns out to need a lot more work than originally thought - brakes, steering etc. So, didn't get to my aqua-aerobics yesterday nor to my adult beginners' swimming this morning! Could go to aqua-aerobics this afternoon but not if we don't get the car back. Ah well. It's a beautiful sunny morning, just what we need to get all this work done, and I've got a line of washing out the back blowing in the breeze and the sunshine.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Sorry, currently nothing better to do than catch up on MSE. Well, I'm doing it on our terrace overlooking the swimming pool, DH has gone for a final sauna, then out for a meal, and tomorrow it's back to the UK.
If anyone fancies some SKIing or SKATing in Fuerteventura, I know JUST the place!Signature removed for peace of mind0
